    I didn't know Bill all that well, but he was one of the people that I liked and admired from the first time I met him.



    His legacy and work will endure and be long remembered. His gift to the HET club will also be long remembered. The HET club has lost a great HudsonNut.

    Wow, I truly hate to hear this. Hope he has a Fast Hudson up there in the Heavens up above. Bill was a good man. I will miss him and dealing with him from time to time. May he rest in peace!

    Really sad even tho expected.

    "Wheeled & dealed" with Bill for probably 30 years & there were few, if any, who were more involved with Hudsons than Bill - his passing immediately reminded me of John Donne's famous "do not ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee".

    I'm truly sorry to hear of Bills passing. I have known him for over 29 years.

    He was an Icon in the Hudson community and will be missed by many.



    I did have the privilege of visiting the ranch back in 2001. I was hoping

    to visit with him again. He would always ask me at the nationals "when are coming to visit again".

    My family and I are better having known Mr. Albright. We have been touched by his friendship and his kindness. I did not know Mr. Albright well but he made a huge impact on my life was well as my family. We will miss you and our thoughts and prayers go with your family.

    I have only been in the HET CLUB since 2001 . However, in that time I have come to truly understand and appreciate the people. I met Bill a few times and felt honored and respectful of his willingness to welcome me into this wonderful group. Thanks Bill and Godspeed......

    As Todd, Jane and I timidly ventured into the HET family two years ago we had the great good fortune to meet Bill. While we appreciated his vast knowledge of and appreciation for correctly restored Hudson’s we will forever cherish the warm friendship that he extended to us on so many occasions. Our deepest condolences are extended to Barbara, Jay, David and others in Bill’s family. Bill was an American treasure.

    I am saddened by his passing. He and I became 'long distance' friends over the last few years, and we finally met last year at Carlisle, PA. One of the greats in the Hudson community, he will be missed.

    A sad day.bill and i joined the club around the same time back in 71 we have spent time together over the years he was from johnstown,pa.and his wife barb being from elizabeth,pa. We felt like bill was a home town boy we will miss him gods speed be sure when you hit your nees tonight say a prayer for bill we will hudsoning has lost one of its great people

    Known Bill since 1972, And in 1973, Bill helped get my 1956 Hudson back on the road with a very rare part. I would not still have it today if it were not for Bill. He touched all of our lives.

    I did not have the honor and pleasure of truly knowing Bill Albright but I found him to be a virtual treasure trove of knowledge concerning the Hudson automobile. I am sure that many of us who had great respect for him will miss his generous nature in the sharing of his expertise. God speed to you Bill.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with Barbara and family....you have the greatest loss...may God be with you and may Bill rest in peace.



    Bill was our greatest HUDSON fan.

    He inspired us and helped us achieve our dreams.

    He achieved his and was able to spend the greater part of his life doing what he truly loved.

    He'd go out of his way for us....he was always there to help and offer advice. You'd call in need of a part...he knew you wanted it "yesterday"...and he'd ship it before you sent him payment. He'd welcome you to visit Vintage Coach and allow you to tour it's treasures.



    Bill was a great friend.



    Bill... we will miss you but we will never forget you. You are always in our hearts.

    My condolences to his family, I never meet him but he has been an icon on this site and 1 of the greatest ambassadors to the Hudson world

    We may be a small world but he filled it with such great enthusiasm and dignity, may he rest in piece

    Although I never had the opportunity to write or meet Bill, he obviously was a Hudson Legend.

    What impressed me most about the Hudson club (HET), was the devotion it`s members have towards the marque. One member in particular that stood out was a gentleman named Bill Albright, who turned down 100K for a 53 Conv. coupe and sold it for 70K instead to a new owner who would care more for the car.

    My sincere condolences to the Albright family. I had only met and spoke with Bill briefly at a few National meets (1st one 1988, York, Pa) and of course the 100th anniversary this year. As everyone says a true gentleman,weath of knowledge and a true blue "Hudsonut"

    I had the opportunity to stop at Vintage Coach on a trip to California a couple of years ago. Bill and I had a great Hudson chat, he was very helpfull with parts and generous with his knowledge. A gentleman indeed. Bob Callfas

    Our first trip to California in 2004 allowed us to make a visit. I had called Bill Albright prior to coming to Los Angles to get directions, not really aware of just how big that city is. I made several wrong exits before I finally got the right one and was able to get to Bill's before he closed. Now my wife is not a junk yard fan, barely a car fan. So she didnt realize what she was looking at or just how famous Bill was. She did know what a Hudson was and had ridden in a stepdown. She was amazed at the quality of work she saw at his shop. We have been fortunate to see Bill at the last three national meets and enjoyed conversations with him. We will miss seeing him.

    If there's cars in heaven I know what I'll be driving, and where I'll get it - Bill's Heavenly Hudsons.

    BIll's legacy will live on here on earth for as long as there's a Hudson left, or a book about them.

    Anne and I are deeply saddened by Bill's passing, and our condolences to his family and friends.

    I have been privleged to count Bill as a friend since 1972. My first visit to the ranch was back when he had a couple/three of those weird mid 50's Volvo convertibles and a Mantz Jet. I probably bought/sold/or traded 50 or more Hudsons over the years. He will be missed greatly.

    Bill was a cool guy and did a lot for the Hudson Community. I bought some cast aluminum parts for my packemaker conv top mechanism that bill had had made. Now I ask you, where else would you ever find something as obscure as that? And he only charged $25 a piece for them. I always felt it was a very fair price. I also really enjoyed watching the video he had on TV of him showing his Hudson Ranch and then he took one of his stepdown convetibles out for a cruise for the camera. A neat guy indeed. RIP Bill.     I was able to sit down and talk with Bill and Jason at the National. Hudson's were Bill's passion. Not many people get to do what they love to do in life. May he rest in peace.

    With Bill's passing, we have lost a true HET icon. Bill's dedication to Hudson knew no bounds. For years, Bill spent his life saving Hudsons, Hudson parts, and Hudson knowledge at a time when almost nobody else was doing so. His work led to a remarkable accumulation of cars and parts that will continue to support the Hudson community for years to come.



    The annual Albright Award also stands as testimony to Bill's passion for putting Hudson cars back on the road. Several years ago, Bill presented the Club with an unsolicited and very generous contribution to be used to set up an "annual prize" for the purpose of encouraging HETers to restore Hudsons with Hudson drivetrains. Several times he added to the fund to help sustain it. Since its inception the Albright Award has led to numerous restorations of Hudson-built vehicles, and will continue to do so for many years to come.



    Bill's declining health occasionally kept him from participating in every event that he wanted to be at, but it never reduced his Hudson fervor. It was wonderful that he was able to make it to Detroit for the incredible 100th Anniversary Celebration, and just as wonderful that so many of us got to say "thanks" to him for everything he did. Our condolences go out to the entire Albright family, and may our prayers help them find comfort. Bill, rest in peace after a job well done.
