Distributor 1Gt-4204A-1
-
Does anyone out there know the difference between the 1GT-4204A-1 and the 1GT- 4204B-1 distributor that was used on the Hudson 8 as I see it listed in the Master Parts Catalogue as both fitting the same engine and wonder if either will work?

The IGT-4204A-1, centrifugal is 17.5 degrees advance at 1700 RPM's, vacuum is 8.5 at 14 inches of mercury, for a total of 26 degrees advance, fits 1948 and 1949 Hudson eights. The IGT-4204B-1 fits 1950 to 1952 Hudson eights. The only difference is the vacuum advance is only 3.5 at 16 inches of mercury, for a total of 21 degrees. You can use either in 48-52 eights. This is all in my tech tip books I sell.
