fuel tank

anyone know of a source for( stepdown 1948-1953 ) FUEL TANK? se are restoring a hudson for a customer and he prefers a New tank.

Unless you want an aftermarket fuel cell or know a REALLY good fabricator, you'll have a tough time finding a new tank. I don't know any "brand X" applications that would bolt in, and haven't ever seen any NOS Hudson examples for sale. Not to fear, though. There are many options for finding a good used one or even repairing the one you have. Do a search in this forum under "gas tank" and you'll likely find a few examples of ways other members have gone to repair their old tanks. Tank Renu is one national chain that does a decent job repairing tanks that most would consider beyond repair. They redid the pinhole-prone one in my '49 over a dozen years ago, and I've had trouble-free use of it ever since.

i have a couple of good solid stepdown fuel tanks if you need one. They'll need to be cleaned out but they're solid.
