Its getting harder and harder to find the glass bowl fuel filters for Hudsons

and other old cars of the 50's. Finally found a paper one at Napa #3034, which is a flimsy paper one made in India. The gasket is also small for the glass bowl. Doesn't anyone make good ceramic ones anymore ?

Thats it! Have the glass bowl type on all my Hudsons, but the filter inside is starting to be hard to find. There used to be good ceramic and fiber filters for those, but now can only find the cheaply made paper ones made in India.

Been running the one that you have shown above on my 60 El Camino for about 8 years now. I love them. The parts are not that hard to find but would love to find one of the rock or cermanic ones....

For those of you who are looking for a ceramic filter element, try a Carter 30-82. A good paper filter element is a NAPA/Wix 33943. If you need a gasket for a Carter Compact filter try a Carter 23A-20 or a Wix 15253.

I'm not positive but I believe that the carter ceramic filter won't fit the AC. Have an AC in my hornet but a Cater in my 50 Caddy. The carter part is F30-77U but it is smaller in diameter and has a small spring to push the filter up against the cover. 53-62 Corvettes used these. The Ac works great.filter is a gf48 but is paper.

Is the Carter 30-82 still being made? I have the Carter filter and having a new ceramic filter would be ideal.

The Carter 30-82 is still listed in their catalog, so you should be able to order it.

Walt here; I have a good used one, came off a 53 Hornet that I bought years ago when I was doing my car and still has the 2 brass fittings, front in and rear into front carb and the out for the rear carb. Your question made me look through all the old parts I still have. E-mail waltmordenti@aol.com if interested. It has the ceramic filter stone still in it.

Bring it to San Simeom. I might buy it if no one else does.
