Wow. Did a tree fall on the roof, or was it rolled over. What is your plans with this one, Uncle Josh? It's definately worth saving, but how much work do you really want?

Speaking of "Cash for Clunkers" I was thinking back a few years the other day. For years I drove old Ramblers, buy them 15, 20 years old for $65, $75 or so and with 80,000, 90,000 or so miles on them. 4, 5 years later would go looking for another one since the one I had had 200,000, 250,000 miles on it. Still running decently, but the bodies - being in Northern New England - would be rotted out. They weren't pretty - but damn did those 232 cid six cylinders run.
Thing of it is, none of them would have qualified under the current clunker law :eek: - the mileage I getting was between 19 and 21, 22 mpg on the open road!!!!!!!!

Clunker mileage is the guvment figures averaged, not actual- my '95 Lincoln actually gets 19 city, 25 highway- but guvment numbers are something like 14/ 22, and average out to 18, so it qualifies. But I'm not bitin'- 'cause I'd have to drive one of those little roller skate cars, and the Lincoln is too nice to crush.
BTW, U. Josh, I was with ya until the last pic- then I sorta lost interest! -

Actually, hard to tell if there is any frame damage, other than the integrity of the roof. You might be surprised what a good body man could do with it. -
A left front fender and straighten the roof. No sweat. It's good ole sheet metal. You just need to persuade it back to it's original shape. Definately a keeper.Dave W.

Wow, looks like it was in a tornado:eek::eek:. The trans will be a single range hydro if it is O.E.. Is it 4sale?.Is the frame rusty?. If not, I might be interested in the complete car, if it is complete.

It is complete. I changed the RR tire this am and the originals are taking enough air to move it. Got a look underneath. The frame behind the rockers is solid. Looks like the box sections ahead of the rear wheels will need some work. Will have to pull the RR wheel I guess as it turns backwards but skids forward. Brakes hung up probably. Will have to get it in the garage and evaluate it. Body seems pretty solid, albeit bent. Hub caps and trim rings are nice. Hood ornament, fender spears, Hornet things are solid. Rubber in trunk has no rips. Rocker stainless is inside.
When I get it in the garage I'll take out the back windows so they don't break and try to straighten the roof a little. The motor turns so will change the plugs and see if it snorts. The gearshift linkage is hung up so will free that up so I can get the beast in neutral.
Yeah, I think it's rebuildable as it does cast a shadow. I don't have time for it tho as I'm trying to get the 40 coupe together and a 46 pickup behind that, so I'd sell it.
