1950 Ford Flathead V8
-
Hey.
I have a 1950 Ford F3 3/4 ton with a Flathead V8 with 90,000 m. It has been siting for 20 years and it has very low compression. Only 30 pounds in all cylinders. Cam shaft timing is ok, I put oil in the cylinder and compression stayed the same.
I cleaned the valves and it is still low. What else could I do? -
90,000 on a flathead Ford is time for an overhaul , new rod/main bearings and a set of CAST IRON rings should do the trick . Do not use chrome rings , they might not seat in , hone the cylinder bores a bit . BUD
