Flywheel & bell housing WILL bolt up. you need to make a couple of changes to drop a 55-62 engine into a 54 or earlier chassis. 2 holes need to be drilled in the lip of the engine front plate for the motor mounts, lay them out the way they're in the 47 front plate. You need to get the 55 water pump modified to fit into available space. shaft has to be shortened and the pulley from the 47 needs to be used. Used to be an outfit here in SoCal that would sell you a modified pump on an exchange basis but I haven't done this in about 45 years. their name was Hanson Distributing nand they were located in South El Monte, Ca. about 12- 15 mi east of L.A. Good luck this is a simple conversion, did it many times. Oh yeah, use the 47 flywheel if you're gonna leave the car 6 volts, for 12 volts use the 55 flywheel & starter. 6volt flywheel is smaller diameter and starte drive is larger dia. than 12 volt units.
