Hill Climb mentions Essex
-
I have never been impressed with Ford or their products, however there are always exceptions like the 1969 GT40 or the 2000's GT reincarnation.
Today I found a story about the latest hill climb at Pikes Peak, CO with this http://bit.ly/3Qhi3o a true brute of a car. Sadly this Ford really only has one purpose, but I would love to see it in action!
On a Hudson/Essex/Terraplane note I was looking at all of the Hill Climb records they have held. Might be a neat idea to start a thread in the main forum about hill climb pictures. I have seen the threads on NASCAR and Drag Racing, but Hill Climbs have always held a special place in my heart.
Enjoy,
Todd -
If a thread is started for hill climb records and pictures why not leave it right here in the discussions section.

The main reason that I would see a need to post in the main Hudson forum is not as many people look here and the new thread in the Hudson forum would be all about HET cars in Hill Climbs.

George Skells in IN campaigns his '22 Essex coach at the Newport Hillclimb.

Hi Todd
The car was built & is campaigned by Graeme & Kay Shaskey. They own several Essex Cars inc a 29 Dover, a 27 Essex 4 tourer, 27 Essex Boattail, 27 E Coupe, & a 26 E tourer. Kay is the current NZ HET Club secretary, & Graeme the current past president of the NZ HET Club. They've earned that plate!!. They are still in the US after going to the Hudson Centenary Meet.
They call the special a Pikes Peak Special, The best info source is Graeme's article about the PP special in our Club mag of a few years ago. I'll try to find it & post a copy. May take a few days.
