Need advice on voltage regulator
-
I replaced a very old voltage regulator on my 1966 Datona about four years ago. It quit working and I replaced it. I opened the one I took out and a wire that looked like a fuseable link was burned. The new one worked for one day but then burned out in the same way. Before I feplace it I would like sugestions on what may be causing the failure. Note I recently had a shop replace the main oil seal requireing the engine to be lifted.

A bad ground or a Generator gone crazy.
Take the Gen in and have it tested and clean and check all your grounds.
