interesting '54 HS ch.

Interesting & rare '54 HS brougham recently put into eBay. Seems to be largely original but also is stick with o. d. and as out of Calif. (now in so. Nevada) should be rust free; would be a good cruiser.
Original paint with the rear fender panels to match top - I remember the dealer I worked for at the time got many of his '54 buyers to have the paint shop do that as kinda "jazzed up" the appearance.
Don't know how to drag the URL here but either someone else will or just go take a look. Lotta good photos of it inc. the interior. -
'54 Hornet Special Club Sedan .... a 1954 only model. Hope it gets a good home. looks original.

The owner provided pictures of the underside of the car ... up on lift. As Pete says should be rust free. The pictures prove this out. Overhauled engine, dry clean car with good interior. Reserve is not met at $5K, still could a GREAT bargin for a Hudsonite.

the most interesting of these '54 HS broughams I ever saw was one my buddy Gary Klann had. It was very low mileage, green, AND with a green leather interior in near perfect condition. It had the Borg Warner trans., and as he was a performance nut, didn't like it. He contemplated putting a Hydro in it but didn't want to mess us such a nice original car so after some years (I stored it for him), he sold it. Don't know of it's fate, never saw it again.
Another very nice one is/was a '54 HS cp. - very low mileage & had been a minister's car. Belonged to an on again/off again member in San Diego named McClanahan who was the 2nd owner. He may still have it but it too had the B-W tranny which he was wary of. -

It seems you are regularly on the prowl for the "Hudsons for sale". It's actually pretty simple to include one in your post, and it will help the rest of us "see" what you are referring to. So, taking a little initiation on my part, try this:
1) Move your cursor up to the URL and left click on it to highlight.
2) Once it is highlighted, you can either:
a) Right click on it, move your cursor down and click on "Copy", then move your cursor back to the text area where your are typing your post, click in your text area, then right click in your text area, drop down to the "Paste" and click on that. You should have just posted the URL.
OR
b) Once you've highlighted the URL, the keyboard can do the "Copy" and "paste" for you. The CTRL key and 'C' at the same time is "Copy" and CTRL key and 'V' is "Paste".
That's a lot of words to describe it, but really not too tough. -
Russell - that sounds like I have to have the eBay auction on the screen at the same time I have an open "New Thread" in here so I can "drag" it in here; is that correct?

I usually do have multiple screens open when making reference to an eBay auction here in the forum - makes it easier to copy things over.
As Russell mentioned - highlight what you want to copy, then click Edit, Copy... When you get to the area you want to paste it into, just click Edit, Paste.
If you are into keyboard strokes, Ctrl-C will copy, and Ctrl-V will paste.
You can also do the same copy and paste procedures with photos. I usually directly 'click' on the photo first, then do the Ctrl-C, then go to the point where I want to paste-in the photo and do the Ctrl-V. This works well only if the photo is already publicly hosted on the web (i.e., viewable by anyone on the web), is very quickly done and saves a lot of work... -

Rick answered it for me. I do the same thing: I open a seperate tab, or new window, with the E-Bay page listing the item, or whatever else I'm using to copy and paste. Seperate windows are nice and you can switch back and forth rapidly. -
Wish this car had come up when I bought mine. Exact same car except for the color. Will have to see what it goes for. I paid 7200.00 for mine and it was not in the condition it was described and not as good as this one appears. Word to the wise, if you are interested in this car GO SEE IT. Mine looked great in the pictures but I was very disappointed when I got it. It had and has rust but fortunatley not in any of the cruicial areas. If I didn't have mine and all I have invested, I would definately go look at this car. It's a rare bird.

(If you can, and I've frequently done it, drag a website address into an e-mail, why can't you do it here???? - "nuts" as Gen. MacCauliff said during the Battle of the Bulge). -

Rather than 'drag-n-drop'
- open the picture to full size, then right-click on it, and from the menu select 'copy';

For those of you who've not seen this sign, they were placed against the glass from the inside of the dealer's window - it has rubber tips on the metal rods protruding forward.
It's about 3' across & I have it hanging in one of my garages at Prescott, Az. home.
It was in it's original packing crate when acquired, approx. 40 yrs. ago. I've had to do nothing to it & only plug it on special occasions.
I would like to sell it as no longer live there, renting out part of the property, live here in Phoenix area in wife's home, but unwilling to pack & ship it.
I have the dealer's clock from the agency where I worked as a kid - keep it plugged in & running in garage here. Also have ad for that agency from '52 local newspaper, framed - will see if can add a pic of it to web page, LOL. I will not sell the clock! -

Rob - It was a no sale, did not meet the reserve at $ 8900.00. No doubt was hoping for somewhere around 10,000 to 12,000. Did appear to be a decent car. If it had been closer to my home, I would have bid on it!
