Billy Mays dead at 50
-
Don't know about you guys but I got a kick out of Billy Mays. Never bought any of the stuff he was hocking but he was a great pitchman!

Guess that's #3 - (things always happen in threes...). Does not say how he died (?)...
FF, then MJ and now BM. Think BM was depressed about MJ, or possibly FF?

When Jon gets a chance, he'll probably move this one to 'discussions' - -

Dan,
I agree Billy Mays was great pitchman, pity he died so young and yes I purchased silly (silly isn't it) putty from him. Have good Sunday,

So Now They Die In 4's What The Heck??????!!!!!

We observed here that Ed McMahon, who died a couple days before was part of the three along with MJ and FF. Billy Mays starts a new 3 I think . . .
And we always have Oxy-Clean on hand- Great stuff. -
Yup, good ol' Vince. "You're gonna love my nuts!", and the same guy who got his tongue bit by a hooker and he proceeded to beat the crap out of!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWRyj5cHIQA"The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings..." -
Add another to the list - Impressionist Fred Travalena, a headliner in Vegas showrooms and a regular on late-night talk shows with his takes on presidents, crooners and screen stars, has died in Los Angeles. He was 66.

Well, that must be true, 'cause James Dean doesn't have anything on me . . . except that he's dead. -

There's a "blast from the past"- about 25 years ago, during summer vacation from law school, the going wage for "legal interns" in Seattle was $7 per hour. By the time I took the ferry across the sound, paid for parking and bus ride, and child care for 3 kids, I'd have been lucky to make a buck an hour. So I stayed home and was Mr. Mom that summer. One of the highlights of our day was watching a crazy program called "Anything for Money", hosted by the zany Fred Travalena. He would offer money to people selected on the street to do something ridiculous, and often embarassing, like giving a speech on the street corner, trying to sell an extremely ugly little dog to passersby, etc. The kids loved it. Fred added a lot with his antics. -

I've already got my tickets reserved for the 200th! Where are YOU gonna be? Hey, if you can't make it, then make sure you and I do introductions and get a chance to hang around together, that way I can relate all the crazy stories we had at the 100th.

Last year Fred was a guest on "At Your Request" a local entertainment TV show that I sponsored and had filmed in my piano store. A real nice guy. -
50C8DAN wrote:Well add one more, Gale Storm! When I was very very young I remember watching "My Little Margie" on very early morning reruns. This was circa 1959 - 1960. She was 87! The show started its run in 1952, wow that was on the cutting edge.
Lord, I thought she passed away years ago!!!!!!!!!

That reminds me of my favorite one-liner from "The Johnny Carson Show" with Johnny as "Carnac the Magnificent"
Ed McMahon: Proboscophobia
Carnac: The fear of having Karl Malden walk up to you on the street and ask to borrow your hankerchief
