What a great time
-
My wife and I decided to take a road trip to Branson,Mo.this past week.We did Branson and also visited friends that live on Table Rock lake. It was a nice time driving through the back roads of Missouri southland. We took the '49 C6 CV. I love this car!! It handles and runs great. It is equipped with a 308,hydro,and 3.07 rear axle. Its leather interior is very comfortable and after driving in it for hours,I can get out and actually stand up!! This is not the case with my wifes 300M. The 300 is comfortable and all,but something about this '49 that is special. I think I passed most cars on the Hwy.,but I wasn't speeding-well,according to the speedometer?. Hope to see everyone on here in Pontiac-drive careful.

You can get a speedometer correction adapter for $62----EBAY # 360038471123----for the 3:07 you have to special order, same price, send a msg to order one--BUD

Hi Bud, the speedo is not the problem. The problem is the face that matches the '49 instraments is installed on the hydro speedometer. The speedo is reading correctly, but it is not matching the face. O-100 Vs. O-120. It is relatively easy to figure about how fast you are going. You can time the mile markers and figure how fast. My parents have a GPS that tells them at about 70MPH,it is about correct with the face. At any rate, the car is a blast to drive. Climbing the hills in southern Mo. really shows the torque that a big 6 Hudson has!!! I compare the torque range to that of my '96 Ford Power Smoke diesel:cool:

I put the 3:07 gears behind my little ole 212 and love it, does OK here in southern Ind. I can just imagine what it's like with 96 more cubes. Gonna do the same to my 51 232 and dream about a 308 and O.D. for it . BUD

Bud,
What kind of mileage can one expect from a 232 and OD in a stepdown? -
HI KERRY, 20-22 and down in your country if somebody told me 23-24 highway I would'nt argue . How you doin on the 37 pickup ? I put some curly maple on a 38 banjo steering wheel for mine, I like it and it blends in with the dash I refinished real well. Looking for another core to do another one .---BUD
