ROC National starts early
-
We're here in England, in part to attend the ROC National Meet which is this weekend. Much to my surprise, upon returning from from a hike & driving up to our hotel, a man I'd met 10 years ago when I came over for this event, had driven his '37 Hudson "Century", an English custom bodied convertible, up to the same hotel we're staying in. His name is Cees Willemsee from the Netherlands. He driven about 500 miles today, driving the '37 H8 from Neth. down to France, then across the English Channel by boat, then up thru England to this area in the center of the country.
He remembered me from 10 years ago & will be driving on over tomorrow a.m. as will we -ROC Meet in Ross on Wye.
Gonna be fun! -
Photo's please many photo's. I would like to show them to my English Hudson to see if it remembers any of them???Brownie

Do a series of reports for us, please! It sounds like a lot of fun! Are you riding around in different peoples' cars?
Why not ask the Club if they've considered making available some of their repro parts to H-E-T Club members (at a slight premium, of course) instead of maintaining an "ROC only" policy on sales? This would spread around the cost per unit, which would help us all! The ROC makes a lot of useful and rare repro Hudson engine and drive train parts, many of them made of Unobtainium. We'd love to get our hands on 'em! -
Jon - I'll talk to Geoff about that today.
Group met yesterday aft. at a local pub, some very nice Railtons + 2 Broughs. Went to a cider mill after a "pint" & sandwich.
Will be leaving on todays tour to several castles & a church which is what ROC does, DRIVE the cars; tour about 60 miles. How many Railtons show up sorta based on weather but no rain yesterday & looks great for today too.
Gotta run, breakfast waiting - flying home tomorrow.
Will get pics up upon return.
