Identify This Part?
-
If this part if of interest to you (what is it anyway?), please contact Sal DePaola (a Studebaker guy) and make him an offer - 916-719-2070; salstude@sbcglobal.net
Maybe he'll take a Hudson in trade.....

These usually have four legs to hold them @ an angle for a footrest. Turn this over and you can probably see where the legs were cut off. They were used as a part of the Hudson Barber Chair. Footrest was for whoever was in chair.
I have also seen a pressure-relief foot pedal from a Hudson chair- Cast iron Hudson name hinged foot control that let the barber lower the chair. Does anyone else remember the days when the barber raised the height of the chair by pumping a long lever on the side of the chair? Man, I'm dating myself!
We (Dad) and I have about seven or eight of the foot rests, I gave a foot pedal to our local Essex racer for a step to enter car. -
There is a somewhat similiar item that is being sold on eBay, that is actually used on Hudson running boards -

Not sure, but I don't believe they were initially available thru/via Hudson dealers (not sure?). These are modern/contemporary cast, and are made of aluminum.

These (& the same for Essex) have been available on eBay for the last couple of years.Dave Y

Yup - understood. I was interested to hear if this is a re-manufacture of an old pre-existing Hudson item, or something someone thought up...These (& the same for Essex) have been available on eBay for the last couple of years.
