For the first time...

to co-opt Misses Obama - "For the first time in my life I am embarassed to be an American"
The Chrysler sale was just approved by SCOTUS - shredding 200+ years of precedence in the 'guise of the "common good"
I will NEVER buy another stock or bond in any public company because we have just lost any recourse to recover your money since the Government was just given the green light to put secured creditors in the BACK OF the line.
Cash for Clunkers was also just passed in the spend-happy house - which amounts to nothing more than ANOTHER 4 Billion dollar bailout to the unions and will ARTIFICIALLY create demand only for a short period of time. (The only good thing is this applies to 1984 and later cars only)
BHO is an unmitigated disaster - his policies will ruin this country if we don't get fiscally conservative people into office in 2010 to stop this seemingly run-away train....

This didn't surprise me (much). They've even put the shaft to about 1/4 of their dealers too boot... You'll notice that the Govt isn't concerned with assisting THEM. :mad:
GM is now going thru bankrupcy, and their shareholders/stockholders won't see much - if anything... Except of course for the Govt, who is now the major stockholder in the company, and who's 'stock' & ownership appears to still be valid & have some 'worth' - in spite of the bankrupcy proceedings... The GM stock held by anyone else or any other entity are essentially worthless.
Essentially, the only 'whole' American automobile manufacturer left is Ford... I hope they can hold-on, without Govt assistance. -
As many others before me have learned, there is NO substitute for Honesty and Integrity. As each generation’s last representatives pass from this life, those who follow are set free from the values of the previous generation. If those who follow are unwilling to continue those values, the values will die. As I age, it is evident to me much of the values one would have gleaned from Americans of my Grandparents generation are considered foreign to today's mainstream citizen. Truth, honesty, integrity, holding each other accountable and to a standard of behavior are all being manipulated by those among our society who make excuses for lack of character.
In light of this evidence, I recognize the only one I can truly trust is I. Instead of expecting others to do the right thing, I expect the opposite and am amazed when confronted with someone who takes responsibility for their actions.
No surprise to me that when icons of this thought process is allowed access to the funds and power of our nation, they quickly plunder the larders. Some might say it is part of a big conspiracy, I call it Obamaomics.

Gretchen Carlson is one of the blonde news babes on Fox (comes with good credentials- she was Miss America a few years back). She pointed out that her family's GM dealership in Minnesota is one on the delete list- and said, "Its a profitable business, that's supported our family for several generations (90 years), and many other families as well- how can the guvment just come in and take it all away? What happened to due process and the Constitution?"

The way I see it is that by 2010, We will have no chance! I was amazed that the people of the United States were blind enough to let this happen. They have turned over our country to a bunch of loose cannons with absolutely no idea, of the repercussions of their actions. I am appalled at the thought of Chrysler being owned by a foreign government. That the government of this country has taken over a major auto manufacturer, (GM) and now will be in direct competition with a privately owned auto manufacturer (FORD). and NOW they are going to mandate that each citizen MUST buy health insurance! Now I don't know about most people but if it comes down to feeding my family or buying health insurance from the government, My family will eat!
I know also that the government has fouled up every business that they have attempted to run. I am certain they will continue in the same way.
The Obama plan, seems like I have heard it before, take everything and divide it amongst all people. Eliminate poverty by a redistribution of wealth. Didn't the Russians try that?
We had the GREATEST country in the world! Not perfect but still the best thing going. What was it that needed changing so much that we risk destroying everything that our fathers fought so hard to attain. I do not and will not apologize for what we did in the past. Our Armed Forces are the best in the world and should be shown all the respect we have. Our brave soldiers have been sent into Europe, Asia, the Mid-East, and told to win the war....Then they are told the rules they are to follow against an enemy that has NO RESTRICTIONS. I know I rant but it P-
*s me off that bleeding hearts protest our treatment of prisoners.....Where were they when a prisoner's head was being chopped off on TV. Where are they when the Bombs are being set off in a crowded Market, killing dozens of innocent women and children?
I know I rant but I don't apologize for the pride I feel for my country!

Too painful to watch more than once - makes me angry that someone like that was put into that important a role/position within our government. -
