WA1 Carb Body
-
I'm looking for a WA1 carb body only. Of the 4 I have only 1 is good for a rebuild - the rest are oxidized to the point that the cleanup is going to leave holdes in the bowl area.
I don't have much cash, could possibly trade something?
-
Dan-
I'm going to look tomorrow, I got a box of carb parts and I know I've got at least half a dozen 968s's. That's what you need for the Twin-H. Make sure that we're matching your good carb with the right model #. Should be stamped on a brass tag that hangs off the body bolt.
That big load I just got had some body-only parts in it and I'll check it and see if it will work for you. -
By the way, where did you get the blown up diagram? Can you e-mail me a copy?
-
SCORE!!
Found 'em! I'm big on trading, Dan. Watcha' got? I don' take no chikkens, though!! E-mail me if you want.IMG_2392_800x533_124430466547612.JPG800 x 533 - 48KIMG_2391_800x533_124430948247612.JPG800 x 533 - 53K -

Russell,
You're all over this one ~ Awesome! Yes, all the carbs/pieces I have are for a 968.
The digram came from the instruction sheet in one of my Dayton Rebuild kit, I've got 2 of them and can snail mail one set if you would like to have one for reference.
I'm not entirely sure what parts I might have you'd want to trade...I'll shoot you an email with my number and we can talk sometime this weekend.
For now just put a hold on those carb parts and we'll work something out. -
From what I was told you can use any body and make it the carb you need with the correct jet and rod. Choke and linkage even can be changed. Can any one confirm if this is correct ?---

Bud-
Not a problem on a copy. Also, not sure about your carb question. I believe this is right, though. Walt could tell us, but he's on the road. -
The Carter Carburator master manual provides interchange information. Parts of these manuals have been scanned and exist on the INTERNET and the diagrams are there for download. Some of the instructional information as well as comprehesive refurbishment and rebuild information accompanies the postings.

I have 2 in front of me, making a manual choke from auto would be easy, ditto making auto from manual , it would require cutting off a piece from the auto and using a strap to mount it at top or just relying on the bottom mount. Linkages are easy to rig up . Factory tech manuals don't get into what some of us po boys do to make things work.
KEN, I put that in my documents where I can pop it up anytime and all the features work on it, thanks --BUD
