1952 Crestline Sunliner
-
I just came across a 1952 Crestline Sunliner that I'm thinking about buying. There is no tag on it, but I do have a serial number telling me it was manufactured in Long Beach. The flathead 8 was rebuilt about 10 years ago, but the car has only been driven a handful of times since then. It does start and run, and sounds good, and has the automatic transmission. It does have one repaint on what looks to be a very very straight body. I believe it was originally white, but it is currently red. The chrome needs to be redone in places, but it is all there. The floors and trunk are solid, as is the whole body. I have been doing a little research, and am learning more about these cars. However, it has different emblems on the hood and trunk that I have not seen on any other 1952. Is there is anyone out there who could help me out with some information on both the emblems, and also what I should expect to have to pay for this car as is. Price is at 20K as is. I have owned many cars in the past, but an early 50's Ford is not one of them. I would really appreciate any help. Thanks, Butch.

I've never seen a Ford emblem with a 'V" under it. I wonder if it may have been put on by one of it's owners?
The other emblem is different also.
Maybe you have a Canadian car?
Could you post a picture of the data plate and VIN?

The data plate isn't there, but I do have the serial number (unless I'm looking in the wrong place. I thought it should be on one of the pillar posts for that year). All it told me was that the car was put together in Long Beach. The car was purchased by the current owner in Canada about 10 or 11 years ago. Before that, there is no record. The unusual emblems are a bit perplexing. They look like a factory item.
