1971 LTD - Radio Question
-
Hi, everyone!
I need some help. I have a 1971 LTD Brougham with the original, working Philco AM-only radio. I can't get a single AM station up here that isn't talk radio, so I want to attach my MP3 player to the speakers somehow. I don't really want to take out the original stereo, and I would like to utilize the speakers that are in the car, if possible.
I looked under the dash, and there are a couple of wires labeled "Speaker" under there. Is there any way to get an adaptor that would allow me to simply plug the MP3 player (not an iPod, incidentally) into the existing speakers?
If not, what would be the simplest way to keep as much of the stereo system as original as possible, but still bypass the AM radio?
Thanks so much in advance for any replies. I am starting to think I'll have to make some kind of adaptor myself, but I worry that the MP3 player won't even be able to make use of the speakers on its own.
Thanks again! -
