47 Drag car lives!
-
Its not pretty and not done yet but I had to go race somebody! We knocked the dust off the old girl shot a coat of primer on it and headed to Charlotte and Pinks All Out at Zmax dragway. We didn't get picked for the show but the car did great. My torque converter is too tight and I don't have quite the right rear gear ratio, but running the 750 carb instead of the 1050 she ran 10.24 @ 132 in 90 degree heat. The car hooked well and was very easy to drive. I feel once we get the big carb. on it and the gear and converter issues solved we are looking a 9.80s easy!

SWEET!
I didn't see a chute on there..you get going any faster they'll make you put one on.
Are the rules < 10 seconds that you need a chute - or is it < 9 seconds? -
That looks cool as heck! Wish it would of made the show, I would like to see it make a run.

The engine is a stroked 440. Its nothing radical just a solid 12-1 engine with aluminum heads. Anything faster than 9.99 needs the chassis cert. and you have to get a competition lic. both of which I hope to have taken care of soon. You don't need a chute until 150 mph so I won't need one of those anytime soon! I hope to have the car out again this weekend and maybe get some video, I will post it if I get any. Thanks for the kind words.
