Seems like the latest with the GM bailout is that it has been decided to kill the Pontiac marque. That's right, no more Pontiacs. Yet another brother to attend the orphan meets. The latest word is that GM will be owned by the Government and by the UAW .... sounds just like the socialist French. Makes me sick.

I agree that it's a shame that GM has lost another great Marque. The problem is, is that Olds and now Pontiac were just a Chevy with a little bit better perks. I hated to see that these cars were all joined into one body and no longer have their own personality.

On a serious note though (and it was bound to happen), the shop i live at plus a couple others in Orange County are having MULTIPLE ponchos and lil' tin indians snatched up by European and other overseas investors, private interest groups, and the like.

My engine builder sent a 69' GTO, and 53' Chieftain to Sweden. My mechanic sent a couple mid-sixties Tempest/LeMans out to the UK... on freight. And, both of them were telling me that the stories about shipping ponchos out of the country are popping up around the campfire... I think I'm going to hide my baby in the garage for a bit.

I was a tech at a Pontiac dealer years back. Having been a longtime Poncho guy it was the time of my life. Having moved on to Civil service I'm reminded of how Pontiac influenced my life. The dealer I worked for is also gone now, so I'll move on.

Love me a Pontiac !!! Had one TA or another practicly my whole life! Just traded in my 99 TA for the 08 G8. Love it!! Think maybe its an instant classic!
