OK, reinstalled the overdrive transmission and now my issue is that it is hard getting into third. Sometimes it shifts in and most of the time it will not shift. I have had to pull over and work it in, then is ok for a few shifts.

What am I missing here, things lined up when reinstalled.

Hey Lance...I had a 1948 Chevy with 3 on the tree that would not shift right at all. I read manuals and tried and nothing worked that I did. I took it to an off the wall transmission shop and in 1/2 hour of this old guys time it worked great. Just a thought. Good luck, Ron

Lance, I would give Al a call. I know he reworked your trans and he would know the best how to let you know what could be the usual suspects as well as how to get them sorted out. I will soon be reinstalling the "FRESH" double lever trans Al just finished for me too. I know the feelings... my handishifter has given me fits ... I have that sorted out now and with the "Fresh double lever" I plan to do a lot more Hudson driving.

Hey Ron, That same problem is one I used to have on a 48 Chevy van. Used to keep a hammer in the truck so when it locked up I used to open the hood and wack it. LOL. Hey it worked!
