This would make someone a good cool project. The floors are pretty rough in the car. The body is not too bad. It will need the two rear patches below the tail lights. Right front fender has a small hole in it. Bottoms of the doors will need patched. The car has thunderbird v8 emblems on the front fenders so I believe the engine is the Thunderbird Special 312?. I haven't tried starting it. It's 3 speed on the column. The car is pretty well complete... Windshield has a crack in it and some of the side glass. I do have some extra parts for it. The upholstry is going to need completely redone.

The drivers side front door isn't latching, I have internal parts and another door striker off a 55 Ford wagon aswell as some other extra parts that go with the car.

I keep the car tarped up (if it makes a difference)

The title is lost (one can be obtained through Broadway Title). I do have the keys for it. It's originally a NC car. Last tagged in 1970.

This was just a plain old station wagon - no radio, no back up lights etc...

$400 takes it.

Car is located in Fayetteville, WV zip 25837

No rush to move the car as long as it's paid for.

I have a 1956 Ford Customline 4 dr sedan (model 73C) with 272 Y-block and Ford-O-Matic for sale for $500.00. It needs rockers, driver side floor pan, and the two rear floor pans replaced. All glass is intact. Dash is pristine. Trunk is pristine. Hood is ready for paint. I have all the chrome. Upoholstery is fair. Buyer gets $100 worth of manuals too.

Engine is disassembled for light machine work; i.e cylinder hone, crank polish and valve job. Engine was mic'ed by a retired Ford machinist and it measures stock in aspects.

I have a 1954 driver that I am putting my resources in and hence, the reason for sale.

1950 FORD Custom " business coupe' " 34,457 miles

Black 1950 FORD "Custom" Business Coupe' - $16,500 (Memphis, TN 38138)

This 1950 Ford Custom is the "Business Coupe' " (2-door with no back seat). Original rubber front floor mat, plus original rear rubber mat on the platform floor (behind front seat), plus original rubber mat in the trunk; original jack in correct location; spare tire in correct location.

It has 15" rims on the front and 16" rims on the rear wheels. Ford put said 16” rims on Business Coupe's as left-over’s from the earlier cars that used the 16" rims, original, from the factory, making it even more rare!! Tires are the original type and do not show any wear.

ACTUAL mileage is 34,457 Has all of the original windows/glasses, "LOF", by Libby Owens Ford. You have to see it to believe this low mileage.

I have the next-to-last friendly owner's name, Leo, and telephone who lives in AZ; Leo bought it from the original owner, I believe, a farmer in Kansas that lived North of Salinas, KS. Leo owned it a few years and rebuilt the brakes and a few things to the car and knows a lot about the history of the car. I spoke with Leo today, 2/17/2010. Leo sold it to the man I bought it from in SC; garaged for last 5 years too.

Good/rebuilt brakes by Leo, good emergency brake, great clutch and throw-out bearing, tight steering, great heater, good ride, and great flathead 6 cyl engine (more torque than the flathead V8's); early February 2010, we drove it 516 + miles from Greenville, SC, to Memphis, TN - NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS! Inside-located, factory hood release works great. Horns,,, nice!

It is painted a very shiny, black lacquer, like show cars have; needs minor detailing.

In fact, a perfect candidate for restoration (NO RUST; KS, AZ, SC & TN car) to produce a 100-point, show car appearance; or, daily driver or show it as is.

Originally, the Ford Coupe's came in two styles:

the 6-passenger Club Coupe' (back seat and rear windows rolled down) and

the 3-passenger Business Coupe' (no back seat and rear windows did not roll down). The latter replaced its back seat with a rubber mat-covered floor shelf or platform.

When new, these economically-priced automobiles started at $1,333. The Club Coupe' in the Custom Deluxe six-cylinder line was priced at $1,511. For $79 more a V-8 could be added.

The standard 95-horsepower I-6 was a 226 cid L-head equipped with a one-barrel Holley carburetor. The 239 cid V-8 had a 2-barrel carburetor to produce an even 100 ponies under the hood.

The only transmission was a three-speed manual, column-shifted, which included a manual gearbox or the optional auto overdrive. (overdrive option may be added today, of course)

The headliner, door panels and seat were recovered due to tears, age and smudging (great for daily driver as is), but it is suggested to replace them with original-type material so that it appears "original" and it has great durability; well worth the effort; see this example for comparison:

1. Example (original), keeping original-style interior:

2. Example (custom rod style), the TLC television show, Overhaulin, along with Chip Foose, took a black 1950 Ford Club Coupe’ and restored it to this amazing finished product in seven days. In the URL below you will see a black 1950 Ford Club Coupe' and that is the way mine looks, except mine shines better, and has the original hubcaps on it. See photos.

Hey guys, been lurking decided to join to get rid of some of my parts. I've got a ton of vintage taillight lenses, turn signal lenses, parking light lenses, etc. A friend bought them when a autoparts store went out of business. We pulled all the ones we want out, and now its time to sell off what is left. I have about 16 boxes of the things, I've only gone through the first box and a half. Here is my CURRENT stock, I'll be adding more... a lot more. I am ebaying some, but I'd rather sell them on a forum so we don't have to pay fees. No reasonable offer refused. They are all GloBrite brand, NORS parts. I believe they are are ~20 years old, all are NEW however.

I’ve got a ’68 Mercury Monterey that I need to get rid of. It’s a convertible with a 390. The car used to be my brother’s daily driver until 7 or 8 years ago when he ran into some major health problems and could no longer drive. I drove it for a couple years but then parked it when the top shredded. At this point the car probably needs a ground up restoration. This car needs to go, I would rather see it go for cheap to someone who will do something with it than end up as scrap metal. Please pm me if you’d like to come by and see it. The car is in western Mass.

This is my boys first car, drove it all thru high school / college /and a few years after, have owned it for 30 some years. It now needs to go,too many projects . By it's history you know this is not a show car but could once again be a rare daily driver , in all the years we've had it have never seen another around here . I rebuilt the 350 Chev engine in it and was driven less than 500 mile when parked . I put some gas in it the other day and it started instantly , has a 3 speed auto trans , new Goodyear Eagles . Needs front and rear floor pans you can make, some body work/paint / upholstery [ this is an easy one, did it myself back when he was in school in red crushed velvet, IT WAS SHARP !! ] and a new top-=-exhaust system and of course the little tinkering around all guys do to kinda personalize their car.
Hello!

I'm new here. I've been browsing tons of forums for an idea of what to do. I was laid off from my job about 3 month ago. I've been looking for a job since then, but did not even get a single interview. I worked as a web designer for a publishing company for the last 5 years. Looks like www.classiccar.com is an active forum with active members and may be someone has some experience working as a freelance web designer. May be "Swapmeets" category is not the most appropriate for this question, but I want to try anyways to get some opinions before I go ahead with my life. I'm wondering if it is possible in the current economy to find work for a freelance web designer and make enough to pay for rent and groceries. I was able to find a small project on craigslist and I developed a website for a company. It was a small project and took me only a week to complete. I got paid $800 for 1 week of work which is not bad. Please people give me some ideas. I have 2 kids and my wife is out of work as well. Thank you in advance.

For sale is a classic all original car with 60,000 miles. This is a very well maintained car with very clean interior and exterior. Anything that is not in really good shape I've tried to show in the pics(a few rust spots.) The rocket 350 engine runs very smooth and glides down the highway. Many new parts and just a few are tires, brakes, master cylinder, radiator, water pump, a/c compressor, however I never finished repairing the a/c. No cracks in the dash, the seats are in great shape, headliner is immaculate, all the glass is perfect, no rust in the trunk or rear quarters, one beautiful cruiser. Please respond by email if you need any more info. Thanks for looking.
