Attached pictures of a friends Hudson Project. He cut the floor out then put the body onto a Chevy S10 Frame & drivetrain. (I obtained the frame and the discarded parts for future use)......He is a tall person so elected not to chop the top and the seat is only about 3" off the floor...Notice how low it will set ..... He is butting the windshields together, installing tinted glass, frenched some lights, motorcycle 'pop out' gas cap, etc...... The pictures dont do it justice...

I'm just wondering if anyone here has put a small block Ford engine and tranny in a stepdown. I'm just tossing around the thought of maybe doing that to my ugly 51 Pacemaker.I will keep the 50 Brougham stock drivetrain. I'm thinking that would be a fairly easy conversion and I can buy a donor 5.0 mustang pretty cheap. All comments are welcome, thanks. Richie.

I'm looking for a picture of a car I remember from the 93 Nationals in Sacramento. It was a black 46 or 47, chopped, sectioned, lowered. Maybe a coupe. I had pictures of it but since I've gone to digital I can't seem to remember where the real pictures went.
I picked up a 41 Traveler Sedan, and was possibly thinking about going custom with it, but would like to see as many pictures as I can to see my options.

Hello all, Ola from Sweden here. I have a 1950 C8 which is slightly modified, used to be on the forum but sadly missed it for some time. I have a few humble questions to which I've so far found no answers to via the search function. (Maybe due to my insufficient english )

Anyway, here goes:

1 Rear axle gearing. I've fitted a csb 305 and a 700R4 which works nicely. However I would like to lower the engine revs at highway speed. Does anybody know of gears and pinions that work in a Hudson axle housing? It's also "singing" a little bit so I guess it needs a fix anyway. What's the gearing ratio today?

2 Leaks. I've fitted new rubber everywhere according to instructions and sealed the welds and windows, but still with every rainfall the front floor looks is flooded. Have tried to find the leaks with hose and flashlights but still no success. Anybody have a trick for this problem?

I'll post a few pix of my ride. Thanks for any anwers.

FYI

Recently there was some interest how a Hornet Mtr could fit into the very tight confines of a Terraplane, but at the time I couldnt locate this particular picture showing can be done...

Actually, someone made it easier over the yrs by cutting & covering a recess into the firewall for a 'rear mounted distributor' 3x5 Mtr.(note the black center firewall area).I only had to notch the L & R angle irons under the radiator & trim the crossmember for damper pully clearance. (Afterward I reinforced the areas I trimmed).

Additionally, I had a new hi efficiency radiator core installed but slid the Core forward 'inside the straps' to gain more frontal clearance for water pump, etc.

The Stepdown Headers go inside & outside the frame rails like were made for this installation with dual pipes exiting under both running boards.Sounds (& runs) like a V8....

The Intake is an aluminum '49 converted to 4bbl with pair Mikuni Carbs at that time. This Mtr is coupled to a GM Turbo 350 which only required bending the center of floorboard slightly. The Mid Frame X only required slight notching to clear rear sides of Transmission Pan.....

Hopefully someone else will consider this Hudson Power installation.....

Just a hint of a "how to" on making a patch panel for the hood of my '51 Hudson which has a 2001 5.3 litre Vortec engine. Notice in second pic that I am using 4 curve gages to keep both sides in symmetry and retain the contours of the hood. I'm having to do both sides and for two reasons. It started out that I was angry at myself for raising up and putting a big dent in my head from the sharp corners of the hood. Tennis balls were used for temporary fix. I was tired of it so....... I decided to round the corners of the hood. This brought another BIG problem to light. The whole front edge of the hood was practically rusted away so much that you could press your finger thru the thin metal. I have already made both sides and have them welded in place. (not in this photo) More to come when project is finished. Notice! I am building car on my porch so I have little protection from the elements.
Peace,

All right all you guru Chevy motor guys!

Went back to the drags last weekend ran slow times than previous
but that's OK was worth watching the people dribbling over the old girl
when I was going through scrutineering, the inspector asked where my over flow tank was for the radiator and I said that I have never required 1 because the old girl runs pretty cold even in heavy traffic sitting there on a hot day she has never been over 150 and generally runs at 120
He was saying that I should be running her at about 180 to maximize the fuel burn

This is a alloy head engine and was after feed back to this
It runs with the original radiator top and bottom tanks baffled, and has a very high flow core, the thermostat for the electric fan kicks in at 120 but on the motor way switches off, I take it that it has a standard thermostat fitted at 160 and have thought about restricting it with a low flow 1 as when the radiator was baffled the radiator guy said it would move huge amounts of water and the engine has a high flow heavy duty Edelbrock ali water pump

Interested in your thoughts and by lifting the temp would this help with my et's

PS ordered 20 liter's of high octane 103 for my next time out
still ran at 92 MPH on 1/4
watched a new rail thats just come into the country same day broke the track record for us at 5.556 @ 243 MPH and running 212 at half track not bad for a engine built down under

Thanks

As I am anxiously creeping up on rebuilding my 308 (or having it built) I have started with internet searching for info, pictures and literature but have not found a whole lot. Here on the forum it seems that 308 engine pic's are scattered about. I'd like to start this thread to compile modified 308 pictures, tech info and come here to discuss it. It will make it easier when newbys like myself come aboard they can be pointed to this thread link.

I personally would like to see every ones different taste's when it comes to paint colors, chroming, etc. I have Ideas for a custom made intake manifold and exhaust headers that will match my (early 50's) period correct '32 Essex Hot Rod build. I am impressed with the Weber side draft set up for sure. Soooooo, show whatcha got! All speed parts, home made jobs, ANYTHING to make the 308 go FASTER. And one last request, other website links are helpfull too. I have to make it out to the next local chapter meet so I can pick Dany Spring's brain.

If you have trouble posting pictures feel free to email them to me and I will post them for you. HETjoecoppa@verizon.net and drop the HET.

Hope you all like the idea, Thanks, Joe

OK folks

Here are pix of my latest project. That is a Buick V-6 turbo setting on the frame. My only issue at this time is I need to move the engine over 1 inch to clear the right side turbo crossover. What problems can I expect by doing this? Any other input regarding this project is greatly appreciated. I changed from an SBC to the V-6. Gotta be different. S-10 rear end that will have disc brakes.

Thanks
