I am looking for a source for a complete set of body bolts. I am working on a '53 Chevy Sedan Delivery. I saw an ad in "Old Car Trader" several months ago for body bolts, I thougt it would be great just to buy the whole set, but the book got thrown out. I have been checking every issue, no luck. Maybe I dreamt the whole thing and that is not really rust holding my body on the frame.

I have a 1955 Chevy Bel Air I am in the process of restoring. The cars is almost done but we have one last item to fix. The guy we got the car from had but a blower on it. We have removed the blower and we are now left with a big hole in the hood. I have the option to buy a new hood but have been told this may drop the value of the car.

Question: If I get the hood replaced with a new one will the drop the end value of the car? If it does effect the value of the car, by how much?

P.S. The current hood is in good condition with no rust only problem is the hole cut into it for the old blower.

Howdy

I am assuming that this forum is for 1946 and later Chevys, right? Well, I got a 1950 Chevy Fleetline fordor that I am gonna put a 350 with open drivetrain in. I have located a '57 Chevy rear end and 3 speed tranny. This is the way I did it back in 1962 when I built my first 50 model, a Delux coupe. Has anybody come up with a better/more economical way since then?

Need info on engine mount kits, if any exist.

I'm going for the resto-rod look, with a basicly stock appearance, but with mild custom interior, Fiesta hubcaps, and a few more custom goodies from the fifties. I want the reliability of the later drivetrain, but I don't have a lotta bucks to go with the front end stuff like the Mustang II type kits, etc. Any ideas are welcomly accepted. Thanks

Hello All,

I need a favor. My company makes 5-speeds for classic Corvettes, among other Big3 models and Jaguar (oddly enough). We generally use the TKO 5-Speed in our kits, but we are working on a 400hp alternative to the TKO that will fit right and cost about $700 less (give or take) than the TKO. The development cost and complexity is a bit daunting given the current business climate, so I was hoping I could get some feedback on interest in this set-up. We will produce it for the 63-67 cars and the 68-82 cars (and perhaps the late solid axle cars if the transmission can be made to fit properly).

My problem is that through the accessory terminal on the fuse block I have a voltage that cycles from 12 to 9 to 12 to 9 and so on. If I hook directly to the battery there is a consistent 12 volts. The only change from stock on this cars electrical system is a chrome one wire alternator with an internal voltage regulator. What's causing the voltage to cycle?

I am currently working on a 1941 Suburban and I want to change the way the back door opens. However, headaches and disappointment follow any modification job. So here's the problem:

Originally, these doors opened from the middle, like a side-by-side refrigerator. But I've welded the doors together and I want it to open, as one piece, from the bottom and hinged at the top. I've gotten this far but I can't find anything that will push the 150 lbs. door out and then flip it up. All the shocks I've used push the door up, causing the door to rub the drip rail. I don't want to get rid of the drip rail nor trim the door.

I've seen pics on the internet of other 1941 Suburbans that have a solid back door that opens from the bottom, but there is no way of contacting the owner of the vehicle to ask him HOW?

Any help or suggestions would be very appreciated!

Can anybody help on this situation. I have a 1967 chevelle with T3 headlight bulbs. I deceided to replace with halegon bulbs and I can not seem to get the headlight bezel lose. I removed all the screws around the grill section/headlight bezel and it won't budge. There seems to be a fiber type piece on the bottom of the bezel trim which I do not know if that is holding it. am I missing something, shouldn't it just come off after removing the screws. I don't want to damage anything.

Thanks for any help you can give
