I have dissembled a nice 1940 110 business coupe that I am rebuilding

>into a more updated automobile and have a lot of parts available for re

>I have a complete drive train (engine transmission, drive shaft, rear

>end) I cut of the front clip, so all the front end parts such as the

>springs, steering arms, spindles, and front suspension arms, shocks are

>available. There is a set of new running boards, (the type that has
Got to keep the 288 for posterity!!! Oh, can the front end be lowered by taking the king pin assembly off and turning it upside-down w/o upsetting the caster ?? Or will she become "bo-legged" ?

I think I might have stumbled upon a rare Packard yesterday in a barn around the corner from my house. The gentleman in ownership of the car stated it was a 1926. I don't know much about Packard but the car appears very regal with suicide doors and a beveled (split)front windshield. The owner also stated that the car has an aluminum body. Stuffed away in this barn was also a 34 Ford 3 Window coupe a few Model A's and a Model T pick-up. Unforntunatly the owner of the barn and vehicles refuses to part with any of them. I offered to buy the 34. I am going to try to get a serial number of the Packard and a pix the next time I go back there. I hate to see these cars continue to rot away in this barn but the owner stated he would rather crush them all then sell them.

I have a line on a supposedly running/driving '46 or '47 Clipper 2-door with good chrome, complete car, missing the rear bumper, and needing a headliner and the seats redone. Door panels are supposedly good, as is all of the glass. Story is the car has been in either a garage or a pole barn since 1959, when it was last tagged. The car had been moved and started periodically over the past 47 years on the farm it's located at. Current owner inherited it from his grandfather, and he also inherited the farm the car is located at.

I can get this car dirt cheap, and if it's anything at all, I intend to get the car...so NO, I'm not divulging the location of the car until I bring it home. My questions are few - Is a rear bumper difficult to come by? Are engine parts, clutches, and other drivetrain items relatively easy to obtain, or would I be money ahead rodding it versus stock (prices of stock parts?). I looked up the '46 and '47 cars up on ask.com for pics, and they are very nice-looking rides, to be sure!

I have included a picture of my 1954 Packard Conv in which I am

considering selling. In my opinion, it should have a total restoration,

but could become a Sunday driver with some TLC. I do not have the time to

give it the attention it deserves.

Car has not been started in 3-4 years. But, it will not take too much

effort to get it going, just have not tried. It is complete and generally

solid. There is some bondo in the quarters. Interior is complete but warn with some wear and tear. Brakes are not functioning properly, but the car does move.

Paint is dull, All chrome is complete, but front grill pieces are

pitted/dull. The car does have a Continental Kit.

If anyone is interested.... let me know.

Went to look at a couple of Hudsons in WaKeeney, KS, and found a couple of Packards there, too. This lady's husband died recently and she's looking to sell. I'm just passing the word for her.

1946 Clipper 2-door sloped-back sedan. Nice body, except the roof looks like someone sat on it! Good to excellent trim, good glass, complete and decent interior. A very restorable car, or street-rod project. - Only $300!!!

1952 Caribbean 4-dr sedan, rear-ended hard, good glass, doors, hood. Grille off the car, front fenders damaged, it could probably be had for nothing!

The Hudsons are a 1954 Hornet Special brougham with a 262 auto and a 1951 Super Six 4-door with a 232 3-spd.

Both cars are garaged and titled. WaKeeney is located between Oakley and Hays, right on I-70. Easy access for a rollback or a trailer! Be prepared to spend some time loading, these cars and parts are loaded in this shop like sardines!

Hello all. I am considering buying a 1950 Packard 4 door with a straight 8. All the origional parts are on or in the vehicle except the air cleaner. About 50% of the chrome parts were rechromed about 4 years ago. The body is solid with the exception of some bondo on the rockers. The engine started and ran for about 5 min the other day. It sounded fairly tight. Does anyone know what this car is worth? The guy want $1000 for it. I am not sure if I want to totally restore it or go semi custom, but it seemed like a pretty good deal. Oh yea... it would need a total paint job... it was repainted in the 70's to a lighter green than origional. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello,

I'm new here today. I'm not even sure if I'm in the correct menu. I am looking at a couple of Packards for sale. One is a 1940 1806 custom super 8sedan, the other is a 52 200 deluxe sedan. I found the model and body numbers on the fire wall(40) and door jam(52), but where can I find the vin numbers? There are no titles, only a bills of sale. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

I have an original 1951 200 deluxe sedan with 32,000 miles on the odometer. It is a great driving car and everything works on it. My turn signals work fine when I try them standing still, but when I put on the brakes they will flash a couple of times and then stop. If I turn the switch again the same thing happens. I am assuming that this means that there is a short in one of the brake light leads or in the switch itself. Before I go after it with the ohm meter I thought I would ask people who had some experience. To answer the obvious question the car is original in every way, including the old wiring harness. I have a new harness but want to get a paint job before replacing the old wiring. I also recognize that the old cotton loom insulation is probably shot somewhere and I am lucky that I don't have more shorts!
