A rather solid '49 Hudson sits in a self-serve junkyard in the Los Angeles area. Missing is the engine, radiator, wheels, all chrome trim (except damaged bumpers) and gauges. What's left is a body shell with extremely minimal rust (some bubbles at rear wheelwell area) and minor dents, front and rear suspension, trans w/od, front and rear seats (original upholstery pattern but incorrect fabric), glove box doors, heater, hood hinges (all four w/springs, hood is gone) and other misc. This would be perfect for someone with a complete but rusty car, very little work would be needed to make the body absolutely top-shelf. It really seems a shame to me to let this car go to waste, if anyone is interested contact me and I can forward the address of the yard, it'll cost you a big $2 to have a look.

My '53 Super Wasp coupe has numerous and multiple problems about its underside. The more I have looked, the more I have found. While none of the problems are huge in the locations I find them, by sheer number alone - the situation is totalling up.

I found a '53 Super Wasp sedan that has a very good undercarriage, solid floor pans, and the perimeter frame seems as sound as they come. As I had originally planned to graft, piece by piece, the frame members and floor pans into the coupe; it now is beginning to look more feasible to graft the coupe body to the sedan undercarriage.

As luck would have it, the coupe body is excellent above the perimeter frame with all the intersections (like door post junctions, firewall junctions, and trunk supports to the rear frame) being rot free. Everything below that is a demonstration in the varying degrees of corrosion.

I know this is a path that has been well worn, and I'm looking for input regarding the grafting of a body to another vehicle from the floor pans down. Particularly the possible difficulties I may encounter going from a sedan to a coupe.

Thanks,
It is on the chrome speedo bezel below the oil pressure idiot light. Is this knob for the bumper fog lights. If so how is it wired? There are three terminals on it. Does one go to the ignition switch and then 2 to feed the fog light bulbs? I can find no reference to this in the wiring diagrams or the shop manual.

Has been 'rodded', although it doesn't look like too much (if any) 'cutting' was done to the body. No hood, fenders, bumpers or 'side glass'...

The chassis, engine & trans are another story... Volare Front suspension, Ford rear, lincoln 460 engine & a C6 trans.

Claims it is a 'fun in the Sun' car, but in my opinion it is "unfinished"...
