I actually bought it from a guy in Canada a while back thinking it was a 308. He actually thought it was too. I had it taken to the machine shop and they said it was in great shape, then right when we got ready to move on it we realized that it was a 262. Anyways, it has very low original miles, and the previous owner greased the cylanders to preserve it back around '62 when they pulled it out of the car to replace it with a bigger engine. I think it came out of a '52 wasp. I live in Shoreline (north Seattle) if you're interested.

On a side note, anyone know how to change your profile name? I no longer have the '52 wasp that my username refers to, but a '51 hornet.

Thanks,
I think I'm running a couple of quarts low, I think the Hudson is low also but I can't tell without a measurement. I'll call Bill A tomorrow but until I do I thought I would put a feeler out here on the forum.
I know that we are lucky and appreciative to have several folks from down under on this forum and I just wanted to say I'm sorry if I slighted anyone. I simply neglected to click on the correct little box in listing my item. I had to cancel the whole listing and resubmit it, but that's only because ebay's not very forgiving of the dumb. The improtant thing is your bids are, of course, welcome on anything that I happen to have!

Well, the good news is the vacuum line going up into the void looks okay, the bad news is how do I get up into the void to access the wiper motor. I guess the first thing I'll do is hook up the vacuum line and see if something works, if not then I'll need to find a way to the motor but it doesn't appear to be something that will be easy to get to. Has anyone pulled the motor off a 55 Hash? Do you need to get to it from under the dash? Do I really need to drive anywhere if it's raining?

Well, we had a decent meet on Sunday at the Quality Inn...

Car turnout was a bit light, but still some neat cars.

Parts buying was decent, Hudsondad did really well, he got something he wanted for a long time, and I'll let him share, but it was a good find!

I got another set of Twin H aircleaners, Oilbath type, dented, but had the connector bracket I needed, so I will recondition the aircleaners, make them new, over the winter, and might try my hand at selling hudson parts, perhaps next year at Docs... Who knows....

Anyway, I got an OD relay, (because I need a spare...) A unch of clutch stuff from a friend, and I ended up with a core pressure plate, that I happened upon on the last pass, weird how you miss stuff.

I got a chance to see Jon B, 46HudsonPU, frankspring, Bill A (yeah, east coast!), Clutchguy, PAULARGETYPE, Dave S, oh, and Cliff and Allan Minard, Frank Dhulhy, Ken Schulte, Wayne Wehrle, Jeff Perkins (2007 Albright award winner!) and geez, we're prolly leaving someone out....

Good meet, glad I got to meet Rick and Jeff, feel bad I didn't get a chance to stop and chat with everyone on the first pass... When hudson parts are around, man, I just get too eager...

I think this is the first meet in a while that I didn't fork over some $$$$ to Frank, that was pretty wierd.... Oh well.

I'll try to get some pictures up in a day or so, for everyone to see...

I finally acquired a Detailed Parts Book for the 1929 Essex and have scanned and posted it on the following website. If you have one of these cars and you have some technical information/literature that is not shown here, I'd be appreciative. Specifically, I'm still looking for the Auto-Lite Accessories for the Essex 1929 as there is nothing in the Service Manual on the starting system. Absent that, I'm writing that portion of the service manual from what I can photograph of my 1929 and what I've learned from several invaluable posters on various forums.
