I need to replace all the door seal rubbers. I have found Metro Rubbers catalog but am unsure in knowing which pieces i need. For example my car has three different rubbers running across the top of the door openings, leaving me unsure as to which one is correct, and then unsure as to which one i need to buy. Metro have two rubbers LP-40 and LP-40A which are the same except one is heavy duty. Are these to go across the top of the door opening, and perhaps also along the leading edge of the door? Does anyone know which of these works better or if someone has a complete kit?

I think a few of you on the forum have already heard or figured it out........but I recently purchased all of John Soneff's parts that are not going to Auburn. It is some serious tonnage! It will probably take me a few weeks to empty everything out of the basement and find a place to stash it. This was of full service shop, so there is a bunch of stuff for other brands of vintage cars and trucks, in addition to the Hudson stuff. I am willing to sell anything at reasonable prices, but it will take me awhile to go through the stuff and attempt to identify everything. I picked up my second load today.
I believe John had cornered the market on oil seals, points/condensers, bearings (but not 25877t...), u-joints, brake cylinders, and especially carb kits and carb parts. There are at least 1000 old carter zip kits for every car ever made with metering rods. There is also a huge cabinet full of new metering rods and parts.
There is some nice NOS sheet metal dating 1940 to 1953. Bumper parts, lights, glass, fuel pumps, stainless, etc.....the list goes on.
I have started to Ebay some items, but if anyone is looking for a specific item, let me know. As I inventory items, I will set stuff aside and sell direct. If you are driving through Denver on the way to or from the national (or any time), please call, and you are welcome to rummage in person.
I may also post pictures of items I can't identify...........I am sure there will be a lot.
Please be patient, as I have 2 jobs and 2 small kids, so my Hudson time is somewhat limited to after everyone else goes to bed :)

Don

Hello everyone,

Has anyone used this gold ceramic engine paint from Eastwood? And how close is the color to the Hudson gold? I like the fact that Eastwood has an activator for it but if the color is way off it may not be worth it.

http://www.eastwood.com/ew-ceramic-engine-paint-qt-olds-gold.html

Thanks,
Jairo.

So what do you guys think? Here is an ad from eBay for a '54 Hornet with a BIN price of $7,500:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1954-HUDSON-Hornet-Sedan-/151034860497?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item232a6113d1

However the picture that displays in the ad is not the car you are getting...it's a pictorial depiction of what it could look like. The rest of the pics show the real car in pieces and probably not worth that price.

Keep in mind this is eBay we are talking about, so most of the people who click on this won't make the distinction.

Fair or foul?

The wet clutch from the splasher engines has three oil seals.

1.	The seal from the clutch driving plate assembly on the flywheel.
I make it from thick drawing board paper. ( a good nursery class!? )
2.	The big seal on the clutch collar assembly. I was lucky that Barry Sweetman sends me
one from Holden ( a make from Chevrolet in Australia as far as I know )
3.	The leather seal inside the clutch collar assembly on the main drive gear.

The last seal was for me the reason to find a better solution.
First take of the clutch throwout bearing. The inside diameter from the clutch collar assembly is 35 mm. I use the metric system, but you can calculate back to inches.
I found a modern oil seal from 25 mm( main drive gear) x 36 mm x 7 mm. MakeEriks : 5107.
On the lathe turn out the clutch collar assembly to 36 mm 5 mm deep.
On the photo’s you can see it. I hope this will work. ( sorry the photo's are rather dark )
Like Frank Sinatra I say : I did it my way !!!
Perhaps other members has better idea’s.
