Its never good when you have to sell your Hudson. Wanted to thank anyone that help me alone the way with parts or advise. I'm forced to sell her so I advertised to sell her long story short a guy named Mike Bowen contacted me we agreed on price . He wanted to pay with Pay Pal . Im glad I read a thread earlier advising never to work outside of my PP account ,like from a Pay Pal e- mail.
Buyer wanted to add money for me to pay for shipping . I'm glad I checked my account because there wasn't any money nor any notification either. But the e mails stated money transferred .
These e mails are fraud but look like the real deal. Check google search and documented from a over seas fraud operation. If I would have clinked on any link I would be in trouble .
It's true when you go against nature and forced to sell your Hudson nothing good can come from it.

Following ra4jumb’s lead with his thread on his 34 build I thought I might do something similar. This is an Australian bodied car, possibly by Ruskin, its a 2 seater plus dickey seat with twin sidemounts, it has a fold down windscreen and sidecurtains.
I’m fortunate that a lot of the hard to find bits have come with the car. There is a mint instrument panel, good tail light housings, sidemount covers, front horns, good steering wheel etc.
Mechanical plans for the car include stepdown brakes, a 5 speed gearbox and a better ratio rear end, ideally I’d like the engine to be doing around 2000RPM at 60mph.

The first photo show the H8 arriving, it almost looks like a driver but alas its just been cobbled together for transport purposes. The next 5 photos are what it all looks like now, the shell, a shelf full of fenders etc, the engine, the chassis.

Hi Guys,

My name is Rich. I'm a car guy from New York, currently living in Switzerland. I've been looking to buy a Hudson for the fast several months and just came across this forum today. I thought I would post here and ask for your help and advice due to the wealth of experience, knowledge and passion you guys have for Hudsons.

Ideally I would like to buy a 1951-53 Hornet Club Coupe with Twin H Power and a Hydramatic. I am open to alternatives and would even consider a Hornet sedan, which is more spacious and would help me to better sell the idea of it being a family car to my wife.

My current daily driver is a 1958 356 Speedster which "safely" fits two up front, and I can still squeeze two more in the back. I feel the Hornet would be a great way to drive American over here in Europe, and would certainly be more safe than the Speedster. Originally I purchased a 57 Chevy 210 Townsman for the family, but then came to my senses and decided the Hornet's racing history and sleek lines would make a much cooler family car. I have now decided to pursue the Step Down dream instead. If anyone could help me find the next member of my family, or just point me in the right direction, I'd be mighty grateful.

Thanks for taking the time to read my long first post.

Rich

Last week I got the Pacemaker out for the season. It started and ran fine. I had put plenty of Sta-Bil in the gas as Walt said to do and once out, I added more gas and more Sta-Bil. Yesterday I went to get the car out and I found the carb was leaking all over in what was a flood of gas. I assume the float is sticking, but I couldn't tell for sure where it was leaking from. What can I do to fix this? Can I take the float chamber apart and unstick the valve? Is this an easy fix or does more need to be done to correct the problem? I don't understand how it could gum up like that with so much Sta-Bil in the gas.

Geoff Blake

Just posting a feeeler here to gauge if there would be any interest in recast 1932 /33 Terraplane 6&8 water pumps. I know of at least one guy that needs one, and they seem to be impossible to find. I have a OE pump and would use it for the template. This could go either way, a finished pump or just housing and impeller castings.

If you may be interested, please reply and provide a general idea of what you may be willing to pay? Initial quotes were over $1000.00 for a single unit, which I feel is way too high and most people would not pay (myself included). I am hoping that maybe interest in 10 or so could get the price down and we could get some spares in circulation.

Thanks,

Hello everyone and thank you for allowing me to post as a new user on this site. Long story as short as possible:
My elderly mother-in-law was widowed by her second husband and he left her a 1951 Hudson Hornet 4 door Twin H.
It is a TX car and is 1500 miles from where I am so I am relying on barely passable pictures- which I will load.
Also, the information she has is limited to this:

Bought "some" 5 years ago..from old man in rural Texas town-
Can't remember how much they paid..
Interior is super nice.."no wear n tear whatsoever"
Running well and driven up to 8 months ago-not starting now
That's about all she could tell me. Oh yes, and I got her to find the vin# on the reg. 130709.

I am hoping to get as much "satellite" information that I can to help her out. I've done lots of research on the car and it's prominent history but I'm having problems finding "sold" price history.
I am fully aware that trying to appraise a vehicle remotely is nearly impossible but any ideas you're willing to throw out there would be very much appreciated. Here are the photos she sent me. I could not get here to have it cleaned so as you can see, it's dusty. Thanks very much in advance, Christine

***I noticed the front grill is very different from the ones I've seen.,,oh o!

Hello Hudson Experts,

i have some questions about a pretty shaped 1947 Hudson Pickup Truck, i have looked on last weekend. Maybe i'll buy it and bring it back on the road. It wasn't ready for a little test drive, because the breaks where out of order, but the engine runs quite good...

I think, that it has the same engine as the normal super sixes, right? What about the transmission and rear axle (differential), has it the same transformation of speed as the passenger cars?

Where the Hudsons of that period (before stepdown) much slower to drive compared to my 1952 Pacemaker or are the differences not soooo big?

Greets from Germany

Hudsonly

Tom

Looking for a Complete Twin H Setup for My Hudson project. Need Intake, exhaust, carbs and air cleaners. Will graciously accept rougher examples that didn't make the cut for that showroom resto. Not interested in paying top dollar for pristine units, but willing to talk. Prefer the 51-54 style but the 55+ style is fine as long as the intake and exhaust manifolds match.PayPal standing by.
