Its never good when you have to sell your Hudson. Wanted to thank anyone that help me alone the way with parts or advise. I'm forced to sell her so I advertised to sell her long story short a guy named Mike Bowen contacted me we agreed on price . He wanted to pay with Pay Pal . Im glad I read a thread earlier advising never to work outside of my PP account ,like from a Pay Pal e- mail.
Buyer wanted to add money for me to pay for shipping . I'm glad I checked my account because there wasn't any money nor any notification either. But the e mails stated money transferred .
These e mails are fraud but look like the real deal. Check google search and documented from a over seas fraud operation. If I would have clinked on any link I would be in trouble .
It's true when you go against nature and forced to sell your Hudson nothing good can come from it.

Hello everyone and thank you for allowing me to post as a new user on this site. Long story as short as possible:
My elderly mother-in-law was widowed by her second husband and he left her a 1951 Hudson Hornet 4 door Twin H.
It is a TX car and is 1500 miles from where I am so I am relying on barely passable pictures- which I will load.
Also, the information she has is limited to this:

Bought "some" 5 years ago..from old man in rural Texas town-
Can't remember how much they paid..
Interior is super nice.."no wear n tear whatsoever"
Running well and driven up to 8 months ago-not starting now
That's about all she could tell me. Oh yes, and I got her to find the vin# on the reg. 130709.

I am hoping to get as much "satellite" information that I can to help her out. I've done lots of research on the car and it's prominent history but I'm having problems finding "sold" price history.
I am fully aware that trying to appraise a vehicle remotely is nearly impossible but any ideas you're willing to throw out there would be very much appreciated. Here are the photos she sent me. I could not get here to have it cleaned so as you can see, it's dusty. Thanks very much in advance, Christine

***I noticed the front grill is very different from the ones I've seen.,,oh o!

Hello Hudson Experts,

i have some questions about a pretty shaped 1947 Hudson Pickup Truck, i have looked on last weekend. Maybe i'll buy it and bring it back on the road. It wasn't ready for a little test drive, because the breaks where out of order, but the engine runs quite good...

I think, that it has the same engine as the normal super sixes, right? What about the transmission and rear axle (differential), has it the same transformation of speed as the passenger cars?

Where the Hudsons of that period (before stepdown) much slower to drive compared to my 1952 Pacemaker or are the differences not soooo big?

Greets from Germany

Hudsonly

Tom

Following ra4jumb’s lead with his thread on his 34 build I thought I might do something similar. This is an Australian bodied car, possibly by Ruskin, its a 2 seater plus dickey seat with twin sidemounts, it has a fold down windscreen and sidecurtains.
I’m fortunate that a lot of the hard to find bits have come with the car. There is a mint instrument panel, good tail light housings, sidemount covers, front horns, good steering wheel etc.
Mechanical plans for the car include stepdown brakes, a 5 speed gearbox and a better ratio rear end, ideally I’d like the engine to be doing around 2000RPM at 60mph.

The first photo show the H8 arriving, it almost looks like a driver but alas its just been cobbled together for transport purposes. The next 5 photos are what it all looks like now, the shell, a shelf full of fenders etc, the engine, the chassis.

Some have a large thick oval plate and others a thick rectangular plate spot welded on the inside of the bucket. Some have 2 long finger springs for the reflector, and others a small compression spring. Curious what year headlighhts they are. 1937 and ?. Also the battery holder is a work of art. Must have been very expensive to make. Much larger than it needed to be. Was there something else that fitted in the end of the holder? There seems to be a gap for something.
Can anyone confirm that this is a 39 trim ring? I saw another online somewhere that claimed to be a 39 headlight trim ring but it was different, potmetal vs. stainless. The other one also had the triangle cast in it at the top, whereas this one is completely plain.

It has a small twist at the top that could be bent back by someone with better metal skills than i possess and it also has what looks to be a heat stain on the bottom that could be polished out with some elbow grease.

I have a Speedo and Clock from a stepdown that I would like to get sold, but I need to know what year they are from. I don't have any pictures at the moment as I left the parts at my shop by accident last night.

The clock has "1948" or "48" stamped on the back of it so I am assuming they are for a 48-49. Both have the brown burlwood pattern to the gauge face and the clock is electric.

I'll post pics later once I have the parts in hand.

I've got two radios here and I'm not sure what year they fit. The face that sticks through the dash looks to be the same but the case construction is different. One has a slanted piece and the other is flat. Also, it looks as if the grounding lugs are on opposite side from each other.

They're both the round button type so i can't imagine they are too far apart in model years, but I am going to be selling these off and need to know what years they are for.

Thanks!

I took the top cover and front snout(?) off the transmission today. As I pulled the snout off this clip fell out. It allowed the inner part of the bearing to walk forward and rub on the snout. Where can I get a clip like this but not broken :D?
