We're going to do the Freedom Road Rally in North Carolina in September. Because my old Pathfinder wouldn't tow my trailer with my '56 Thunderbird on it, we sold it and I bought a 2006 Buick Ranier in cherry condition that will. The Ranier is a clone of the GMC Envoy and Chevy Trailblazer. It's got the 4.2 in line six in it and has the factory tow package. My question is, with 61K miles on it and a solid maintenance history, should I spring the additional $2k for an extended warranty?

I've always avoided extended warranties by doing my homework on things I buy and only buying top quality, but this one worries me. It's loaded with all the electronic bells and whistles and is a really nice ride, plus has the towing capacity I need to tow the bird from Florida to NC. I'll be setting it up with a load leveling hitch.

Any advice from owners of Raniers, Envoy's, or Trailblazers?

BTW, we trailed our Model A all over the country with the old 01 Pathfinder, but the extra 900 pounds of the bird was a little too much to risk.

Thanks in Advance,

Bob C.

Hello all. @46HudsonPU has emailed me to let me know that some of you were having difficulty with the reply feature of the forum. That is by placing an '@' sign directly in front of a username, that person would be alerted that they have had a reply, or a mention, in a Discussion.

Simply put, I'm afraid this function will not work if you have a space in your username. Unfortunately there is no 'fix' for this. It can be coded, but the advice from the techs is that this would cause issues down the the road.

So, in order to the reply feature work you will need to close up your username ('nickcarraway' rather than 'nick caraway'), or use an underscore (nick_carraway), however the closed option is preferable. A hyphen will work, but again, closed is the better option, followed by underscore.

Here's a guide on how to change your username.

1. Click your current username as it appears in the top navigation, above the forum:

2. In the new screen, look to the left-hand side, and click 'Edit My Account'

3. In the 'Edit My Account' pop-up box, go to the Username field, and close-up the space in your username. Press 'Save', and you're done. By the way, should you ever want to change your username, this is the process to do so.

Hello

I am about to start restoring a R. Straman 1986 300ZX Convertible and the body pretty solid and so is the interior is in good condition. What I help need help with is the engine has 250,000 miles and starting breaking down. On a car of this year would it really matter if I got a new engine or would it be best to try to keep it as orginal as possible and rebuild it

Thank for any help or comment

Hopefully I've posted this in the right forum here..

I'm trying to put an approximate date to an old photograph. This automobile was cropped from the photo so that more detail is visible. In an educated guess, this photo was probably taken sometime around 1915. I figure that by identifying the automobile I should be able to better verify this. I don't really know that much about older cars like this, so I figured I'd ask the experts. Any help you can provide would be appreciated!
