I'm looking for information on a particular car. I can't find a picture of it online and I haven't been able to get close enough to see what its badge says. Its very odd looking. It has 8 or 10 round lights on the back, some larger ones on the outside and smaller ones towards the center. Its obviously from the late 70s or early 80s. It has porthole shaped opera windows and the shape resembles a number of the uglier AMCs from that era but it doesn't actually match any of the AMCs I've found. If anyone could help identify the car I would appreciate it.

Hi All,

I was looking through some Hemmings drive reports lately and they started with 20's Hudsons. Reading through the book I was wondering if anyone with the older cars could put up videos on how they get these older cars started and basic maintainance on them.
I have a 49 but it is fairly easy with cars in this age group to figure out how to operate them. I don't really have anyone in my area with older cars to show what it takes to get them going.
I figured it might be a good idea to have something to at least show what steps a person must do to run the older cars. If someone with no knowledge of how to do it has a video they can watch... if there is no direct way for them to learn from a previous owner or someone in the know, they won't immediately mess up and get discouraged or in worst case damage a car unintentionally.
Thanks,
Lisa

Hey All,
For my summer internship with the Historic Vehicle Association (www.historicvehicle.org) I went along on the 2012 Hemmings Motor News Great Race. The 2300 mile race began in Traverse City, Michigan and wound its way North and then East through Ontario, back down into the States in New York, through Pennsylvania, Ohio and concluded in Dearborn, MI at the Henry Ford Museum!

We began the race in a 1954 Oldsmobile Super 88 that was aptly named "Miss Adventure." The car was obviously a V8 but had the very rare option of being backed by a three speed manual transmission. As cool as this was it would lead to our eventual exit as many problems existed within the shift mechanism in the column.

Living up to its name, we didn't make it too far into the race before its continued mechanical problems put us out of the race.

Despite this, we continued following along on the race in our Promo vehicle, photographing the event and doing video's for our This Car Matters movement.

Check out these pictures I took and if you would like to see more, head on over to our Facebook page!
https://www.facebook.com/HistoricVehicleAssociation

If you would like to read more about our trials and tribulations as rookie competitors in this 2300 mile journey check out our race blog at:
Historic Vehicle Association

Thanks everybody!

Casey M.

Hi all,

This is kind of a sales ad, so if this is in the wrong place, or inappropriate here, accept my apologies and please remove it if you like. I'm new around here, and don't quite know the rules yet. I wanted to place this in the classifieds, but it looked like that was all complete cars, and that's not what we have.
We have a few parts for a Hudson Super 8 that we'd like to sell. It's all bodywork, in excellent shape, carefully removed from a Hudson Wasp. Pictures and detailed descriptions for everything are available. We can ship anywhere, or if you live near Chicago, you could come check them out in person. We have exterior window trim for all four windows, bumper brackets, gas tank straps, vent windows, the rear beltline(in amazing shape), headliner bows, and the front compartment window regulators.
We're selling these on behalf of a Hudson owner, who has finished his restoration and doesn't need them any more. We'd all like to see these parts go to a good home. Anybody interested?

Hi Guys
I am restoring an MGC and these brackets were in the many boxes of parts. I cleaned sandblasted and powdercoated them only to find out they are not for my MG. Anyone know what they go to? There are two of them , left and right handed with a nut welded at one end and multiple holes and slots.
Thanks...
Roger

I have information on man in TN that is making stainless tanks for around 200.00. I saw one here at Doc's and it is excellent. All that has to be done is drillnad tap for sending unit and gas tube. I am going to call him on Monday and order one to have for stock, in case I ever need one. If he is interested in making more, I will post information here.

I'm a part time car junkie and a rest of the time photographer. A photog friend snapped this image while motoring around and forgot to check what kind of car it is. It's beyond me to identify it and I'd really appreciate any help you all can give me.
