I have a 51 commodore 6 and I was wondering if anybody could tell me if this is a factory fuel sending unit or aftermarket ! I was having fuel delivery problems and decided to drop my tank to have it boiled out and this is what I found in the tank. The lid had come off the bottle along with the labels and were floating in the tank.On a serious note does anyone know where I can get a new sending unit. All replys would be greatly appreciated.
Fuel pressure regulator question

This question is for guys like me running Twin H on their 308 engines. If you do have a pressure regulator on your car what do you have it set at? I am grasping at straws here because I am completely puzzled as to why my car just guzzles the gas. For example I have used aproximately 3/4 of a tank to drive 86 miles. Do the math.
I have my pressure regulator set at 4. Does a Twin H engine even need a regulator?

I have checked and rechecked all the settings and adjustments and they are right on. Engine only has 500 miles on it. The car runs beautifully, starts right up and just cruises along. What is the deal with this gas consumption?

Any words of wisdom greatly appreciated.
Took it down, and installed a Chevy Smallblock, 700R4 Tranny, Ford 9in posi-rearend, and 4 wheel disc brakes. Drove it around a coulple of years, making sure everything I changed worked ok. It did, so I took it completely apart, and am in the process of either painting, polishing, or chroming every part of the car. A total rebuild. So I bypassed my heater core and just twisted a hose back into the motor. So obviously my heater doesnt blow hot air. I thought it was a bad heater core so i disassembled everything I needed to and started to take out the heater box, but then i realized...if it was the core it would leak INSIDE the car...not OUTSIDE.
Recently I got from the USA a 1937 engine and gearbox( E- Bay )for my Brough Car.
The engine was rather cheap but transport to Holland and customs came on € 700.-
I was so lucky, the engine still have the original pistons.
This pistons I have removed with a lump of hardwood and a big hammer.
Finding +10 pistons is not so easy. The well known dealers from the HET-site started with +20.
A couple of months ago there was a discussion on the HET-site about oversizes and making pistons from bigger oversizes to fit.In general everybody agrees : try to use the smallest oversizes you can.
On E-Bay you can find someone who sells Hudson pistons.
But are these pistons the proper ones. I heard that the best are the ones with 4 rings. Two compression and two oilscapers.
Can someone help me to find the suitable +10 pistons for my engine?
The correct type and where I can get them.
Thank you in advance.

I helped him care for his cars (currently and every winter put them away and pull them out in the spring. Last summer one was driven, one just moved from one garage to another and the others nothing was done at all. when they were put away batteries are disconnected, gas stablizer added, washed and waxed, covered with car covers and tucked in. One car gas drained and run dry.

now my mother does not want to sell them or drive them. I recently had to move the 66 SS impala convertible which always starts hard after storage. but I found the white interior covered with mold. I got it started parked it outside with top down, wiped all interior and let it dry outside before putting back in the garage. I really need to clean this up. Car runs terrible I think it never got the gas treatment last year so i think bad gas. Hope to register it ,only 1/4 tank so going to fill tank and drive her. All cars are insured but not registered,
Questions and put some miles on her.
cleaning the mold with just interior upholstry cleaner?

I have a 79 z28 camaro with a 400 ci smallblock w/ headers, camelback heads, double valve springs, aluminum rocker bearings, high rise intake, and a speed demon carb. After driving for 15 minutes it starts acting like it's out of gas (sputtering, lost power when i hit the gas, and backfiring) and it quits but starts up fine 20 minutes later and it does it again. I added an electric fuel pump with the mechanical one and double checked my fuel lines but it did nothing. Fuel filter is always full. Any help? at all? I can't figure this out. There could be rust in the tank...but ive been driving it for a few months and it just started happening.

I restored a 1966 Checker Marathon A-12 with my father when I was in high school. Unfortunately I had to sell it when I graduated college because I was low on money. I would love to track to vehicle down and repurchase it.

I still have the VIN number, but have lost the contact information of the guy who bought it off me. I can't use a site like carfax.com because the VIN numbers in 1966 are a different format than todays modern VIN numbers. Thus, carfax thinks the VIN doesn't exist and produces an error message.

Does anyone know how I can track down the car?

Thanks,
