Hi, I own a 76 Fleetwood Brougham, the last of the landyachts. I am looking for a sales brochure for this model, including the Talisman and the D'Elegance.

So far all I have received is a 76 Cadillac FullRange, another 76 FullLine(A4 Magazine size), a 76 Accessories and a blank dealer mailer featuring a 76 Fleetwood.

Ive contacted GM Heritage but they have no information at all. Ive looked up the Cadillac Club of America but cant find anything.

Im convinced that there must have been a stand alone/single sales brochure for the Fleetwood. Does anyone here know if it ever existed? even a Prestige Fleetwood brochure? Many thanks:)

Hi,

I have a 72 LeMans (350) That's being completely reworked:

complete rebuild + perf. cam (malt shop/lope), intake, valves, bored over 40, pipes, steel crank... the list is getting crazy... so was the bill.

The "crazy" thing about this project is that this old "LeMans" has stock disc brakes, stock performer rear-end (torsion bars), and a bunch of other perks; the Vin number is weird, may have been an employee car...

But, the nail in the coffin is that the headers (hooker comps. 4901) match up, all except the 4 outside bolts have nothing to bolt into (no metal). All of the other bolts match the bolt pattern perfectly, but the guy who rebuilt the engine is scratchin' his head (with 35 years in the industry as a race engine builder), and the exhaust guys were baffled... I have the right headers, for the right engine (on paper)... but I don't want to risk an exhaust leak, but now, I don't know what to do with her. Any pointers?

Hi,

After a deal on a Catalina fell through, I've been looking at a similar car, the Oldsmobile 98. I found one locally for about $1000. The paint is really lousy, but I don't care so much about that. The thing that really got to me was the interior...the front seat is thrashed, and the front door interior panels are also in need of serious repair/replacement, and the headliner is gone. However, the body and engine are good. If I get between three and four thousand for my old VW, does anybody think it's doable to buy this car for about a thousand and restore it within that price range? I've never restored the interior of a car, and I don't know how easy it'll be to install the headliner, and I haven't been able to find a reupholstery kit yet for a 1965 Olds 98, so I'm looking at a professional upholstery job...could get pricy. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am trying to figure this out and so far I haven't come up with any good reason so I am hoping somebody here can help.

I purchased a 1968 Firebird about 5 months ago and it has a top speed of @85MPH at 7000rpm. Now keep in mind this is a VERY built engine and designed for high RPMs.

ENG. - I have a 396 bored .40, 11:1 pistons, 850 double pump, highrise intake, oval port heads 2.25 in/ 1.88 exhaust, roller rockers 1.8, Herbert solid lift 600-620, double roller timing chain, high volume oil pump, 7QT pan, and a magneto, and a ton of other misc stuff.

Tran.- TH400 with a 3800 stall

Rear- 10 bolt posi 355 gears

Tires 275/60 R 15

Top Speed is top RPM for me which is about 7500rpm and 85 -90 mph. I hit top speed LONG before the end of the quarter and I would like to see this hit about 110- 120 in the quarter. Any ideas as to why my top speed is so low?

Did anyone convert their bench seat to bucket?

Just trying to get some ideas. I think that I am going to customize my 57 Buick Special rater that restore it to its original specs. I know of a salvage yard that have plenty of bucket seats. Any ideas or pics of what will fit without much fabrications?

Hi,

I've recently bought a 1966 Pontiac Parisienne from South Africa, I live in Namibia. Now I think the car is an Australian import but I'm not quite sure. Anyways it's got a Holden 308 in and a Holden tranny (old owner replaced the Chevy stuff).

Now on to the problem... the ball joints are shot and I'm have a hard time finding replacements. I've look online and found some but the only ones that look like the current ones are for a 1966 Chevy Impala, now the question is do the front suspension parts from a Chevy fit on a Pontiac and how many other parts are interchangeable? I understand that the Pontiacs were B-body based...

Here are the part numbers I'm looking at for the upper K6034 and lower K6035 (MOOG numbers).

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

My mechanic said I should go ahead and buy a new carb but that's a $400 carburetor and I can't afford to waste that kind of money. I have a rebuild kit, but do you all think its a waste of time to rebuild a carburetor or is that a decent investment? Oh, and it was taking in too much gas regardless of what you did to it and it was leaking from the left side (from the front of the car).

What can I do any advice? Now she is orignal, confused So i take it in 48 people had this problem...I would think now there are parts to fix this...
