Hey all you chevy gurus - Is there a quick and easy way to tell if a small block chevy engine is indeed a 350 with out digging up the casting number, or any of that type stuff?? I am looking at an old van (for the motor) and the guy says "I'm pretty sure it's a 350." Well I'd kinda like to know with some certainty BEFORE I buy it.
Thanks!

As of october 2003, I've been an owner of a 52 Chevy Pickup with a V8 automatic 350 HP 1980 camaro engine. I've never ran the engine yet because I'm still piecing together certain parts.
One Problem that I am encountering is that my steering wheel column, which is original, has the shifter from park to reverse etc. I am having trouble with the linkage shifting the gears on the transmission. Where would anybody suggest that I get the transmission linkage? Or does anybody has a better idea?

I am unfortunatley selling my Chevy due to other commitments. It is in very good condition both interior and exterior. The paint has started to lift slightly upon the bonnet and therefore needs a respray, this is the only part of the car that does though. It is tax exempt and has 7 months MOT remaining. She is a good driver and comes complete with some spares and magazine history. It is a beautiful car but needs a good home and tlc. It is situated in West Midlands UK so shipping has to be mentioned and should be paid for by the buyer. It has leather vinyl interior with a fully working NOS radio. The car has had a recent engine retune, new carbs, new battery and runs like a dream.
