I have a 1950 Ford F-1 with all the stock suspension and i want to lower it. I will get new suspension if need, but i would prefer not to. Ive been told to drop the axle but i dont know how to do that so could someone inform me? Also I have been told to cut and drop the axle and i have also been told to get new leaf springs and also lowering blocks. However someone told me lowering blocks wont work on my truck. So are there any other ways to lower it or are one of these the best bet? Thanks alot.

I am new to this forum. My father passed away, and left us a beautiful all-steel (unchopped) 34 Ford three window with a 350 ram jet fuel injection GM crate engine and special constructed frame. The car (body, original frame and engine) was in his garage for 30 years, then he finally got it made soon before he died. Emotionally, we cannot bring ourselves to even show the car. We have decided to sell it, but need an appraisal. Can anyone recommend a good appraiser with a proven reputation that we can use to price the vehicle, which we have in our garage in New Jersey? Thank you!

I am trying to sell a 40 Ford Truck for a friend. This truck was left to her when her dad passed on.It is in great shape but not all original.I believe the motor

(flat head to be original. It runs well. The gas tank has been moved to the back and is not original. There is no dents and the truck has been painted light blue.It is not a proffesional paint job. There are some runs. All parts are there. It has been converted to 12 volt.I believe the truck to be worth between $15,000 and $18,000.The truck being stock is rare, most have been turned into hot rods. Can anyone tell me what they think the value might be?

Any selling tips?

Hi there,

A friend gave me something that I think is very valuable but I have no idea of what to do to find out what it would be worth... or who to contact to sell it.

It's a Ford Service Training Case containing 18 huge vinyl records, 4 smaller vinyl records, 21 cans (size of cans are 1 & 1/2 in. high & wide to 1 & 1/2 in. high & 2 in. wide) of films varying in length from approx. 40 in. to 76 in. long and almost 1 & 1/2 in. wide, a film projector and a new 7 &1/8 in., 2 ply roll of (blue) register carbon paper. The records are 15 & 3/4 in. across!!! They were made by Columbia Records... playing speed is 33 & 1/3 rpm. They are in new condition, still in their paper dust covers, the title of this one I'm looking at is: ' 1951 Ford Service Forum number 11... introduction to 1952 engines' produced by Wilding Picture Productions INC. Chicago, Illinois. I have the entire 12 records of the series, plus 4 other large records having to do with methods of attracting & selling to customers. The smaller (12 in. across) records have to do with Ford Truck Facts and other selling lessons. The case has quite a bit of wear & tear and slight ripping around the top edges around the handle due to the case being so heavy... 35 lbs.! Oh, the case is med. blue.

Can anyone help me or tell me where to search for a collector/buyer? Thank you!!!!!!

God Bless & Best Regards,

Hey everybody!

So I have a 1967 mustang, notchback. I've done a ton of custom work to it, such as a chopped roof, suicide doors, shortened the trunk by around 5 inches, shaved the upper flares on the front fenders, shaved doorhandles, tricked out the trunk so that it opens up above the roof, etc...

Anyways, I am having a pretty hard time finding a southern California (San Diego) glass manufacturer that will make windshields. I tried cutting the rear window to match with the lowered roof...silly me, I forgot that it was tempered glass. So it shattered into a billion peices and sliced up my hand pretty good.

So does anybody know of a San Diego glass manufaturer that will do windshields and the like?

Hello. We have a beautiful, off-frame restored, 1936 Ford 5-Window Coupe for sale.

It was built for touring and ready for road trips. Dark red body, tan leather & vinyl interior, beautiful stock-style dash and interior window trim; hand-painted wood grain. Automatic transmission, unpretentious and robust 307 CID-GM engine, AC, stereo, power steering, power brakes, tilt steering wheel, trunk (not a rumble). Some upgrades over the years. The car runs great and is a joy to drive.

This car was meticulously restored by my grandfather, the late Don Forbes, a well-respected professional restoration artist of the Mid-Willamette Ford V8 Club, in the late 1980's. This was his last restoration and he built the car for his late wife to drive comfortably, and to fulfill her request to have a car that would “lay rubber.” (It does) The car has been garaged and well-maintained by the family but we are more boaters than car enthusiasts, and would like to see this beauty go to someone who really enjoys these classic cars.

Asking price is $35,000 based on a recent appraisal and comparable vehicles, but we'll consider other reasonable offers.

I am technically the 4th owner of the car, an older lady owned it since new, then turned it over to her son few years ago and he did the engine swap. He then sold the car to the guy I bought the car from who only had it 1.5 years and he did the suspension fast air bags and and frame notching at a professional shop.

This car has been awesome for the short time I've owned it. It is my daily driver and has never broke down on me, the engine has been very reliable. The engine does NOT leak at all, it's in great running shape. The car cruises on the freeway at 70-75 mph no problem, all day, everyday. I get usually around 11-13 mpg between driving around town & highway driving. I just recently did a tune up on it (approx 300 miles ago)... all new Autolite XP spark plugs, custom Accel plug wires, new distributor cap, new fuel filter, new air filter, Mobil 1 synthetic oil & Lucas oil stabilizer. I've added a few mods of my own including the headlights, taillights, stereo system, new wiring system, wheels & tires, etc.

I had the whole car completely rewired with a new wiring kit & now all electronics, gauges & dash lights work including the original quartz clock, all work with no problems! There is now a modern day fuse box under the dash for ease & convenience to check fuses, NO more shady old school fuse blocks & bare wires!

Clear title, tags are current until December, no smog. All the windows roll up/down with ease, all electronics work. All 6 seatbelts are there & work. The body and frame are straight, no body work is all done mostly and pretty much ready for paint if you desire. Otherwise the current satin black gives it the rat rod look.

There is a folder full of receipts & maintenance records from the previous owners that I'm waiting to receive from the last owner, soon.

Hey this looks like a great forum with alot of knowledgeable individuals, hopefully you can lend a helping hand...

My friend recently found two 1957 Fords in his field, one of which is a 57 Ford Fairlane 500 and the other is a basic 2 door but with a 312 thunderbird engine and 3 speed trans.

Here are the pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/39477233@N05/sets/72157619717200657/

Anyone know if these are worth anything?

My friend also found some other old cars and tractors...maybe you guys might have an idea about these too... http://www.flickr.com/photos/39477233@N05/
Thanks for the help!

I like to put chevy with chevy and ford with ford but beleive each to there own. I don't do high end rides and I do all of my own work. I try to get the biggest bang for my buck. Here the problem front clearence fan to radiator. Ford people don't have the verity of pulleys and mounts that the other brand does so I'm looking for different ideals. Like moving alternator to driverside or any ideals out there Thanks Mitch
