1995 Mainline with straight 6. Got it running this past weekend after it had sat since 1967. All was great till the fuel pump gave up and started spewing gas. I replaced it with a new one and now the fuel is flooding out of the carb?? The car did run in the driveway a for bit with the old pump and there was no flooding. Could the new pump just have too much pressure?

I took the old pump apart and could not see any tear in the diaphram?? The look of the old one with the glass bowl on bottom is great but I couldn't find a rebuild kit for it. Anyone have a lead for that?

Thanks!

Hello, I've decided to part out my 53 ford mainline to support my 71 buick skylark build. The car is complete minus engine and tranny. Originally was a 239 flathead v8/ 3 speed manual with OD. Front fenders are in great shape, no rot or rust, I'd like $300 each. Shipping is actually cheap, They will be shipped through grey hound. US mail, fedex and UPS all have told me they will not ship. Shipping should be in the $60-65 range with greyhound. Fenders are in primer but will need to be wet sanded before applying sealer. Body parts are rare for these cars and you will not find solid fenders like this anymore. Im selling the driver side first untill i can get to the other fender in storage. Also have innr fenders that need to be cleaned up before being repainted. No rust issues, $80 per inner fender. If you need anything at all, please let me know and i'll get the part out, check condition and get back with you. Everything worked on this car when it was parked. Radio did work but i tried it a few weeks ago and one of the bulbs went out. windshield and rear window are original and in great shape, no bubbling, $125 your choice. Heater worked great when i pulled it, its been stored inside a dry shed and boxed since it was pulled. Exhaust is all original, common surface rust, original muffer in great shape and so quiet you could barely hear the car running... when it ran

Like i said, you guys need anything, let me know and i'll get on it. Also can gets all the pics you need at your request. Fenders i believe fit the 1952-53 and 54 ford mainline and crestline. Im not exactly sure so please check first before buying. Please either PM me with question or you can email me at the following email address: bigblock455skylarkcustom@yahoo.com

Hello,

My Aunt is giving me this car, I have been wanting this kind of car for years. So when I found out she had one that broke down awhile ago I asked her for it. She lives far away from me, I would pay for towing and any repairs.

It was not driven too long. However I'm not too car savvy. I have many friend who are will to help repair it, if I supply the parts of course.

The catch is the car was and has been sitting since it broke down, most likely 20 or so years.

I would like to know what is the worst possible case that is wrong with the car after it sits that long?

Also it is free, but after all the repairs and time put into it would it be cheaper to buy one, fully repaired or even in better condition then this one?

Please help,

Hello all...my first post...looks like there is lots of info here.

I am restoring a 1949 Ford F1 Pickup. I am currently trying to install new glass into the cab with new rubber. I am having a difficult time getting the rear window with the rubber mounted on it to seat properly in the rear window. I am installing it from inside with a friend to pull on the rope from the outside. I purchased the glass from LMCTruck.com so I believe the glass is not the problem. I am using a spray on soapy water mixture to help with install.

The problem is the 2 lower corners just will not seat. Is there a shoe-horn tool or some tool that will help with this install. Thanks in advance.

Replacing the engine and tranny with more than adequate power. Which is the WEAKEST link, that we "should be prepared to replace" if we "over do" it?

The drive shaft? the differential? or the axle?

Yes, I know they've ALL got to be replaced, so have that plan for a "rainy day" but for now, just wondering what we should be the most cautious of?

Oh, it's [assumed from factory?] 272 Y-Block, single exhaust, and std tranny, which I presume to be "Ford-O-Matic".
Now, the question I have is that when I purchased this vehicle, I got a piece of paper showing what each number/letter meant in the VIN number. It had a V which stands for Victoria. I can not find anything on the internet about this car and everyone I talk to doesnt know. I would like to know exactly what I have and more info, maybe a guess to the price? I have plenty of pictures and I would really appreciate if someone could help me out. Thank you. Here is just one picture.

Can anyone tell me the difference in regards to the body style between a 1955 Crown Victroria 2dr hardtop and a 2dr sedan? I'm trying to find the right carpet for this car. I always thought if there's a "b" pillar post, than it's a sedan, no post means h-top. I've seen pics of both(h-top and sedan), and they both have posts. What gives...?

I don't want to spend the money on Clifford stuff.
Any ideas or pictures.

My 50 Tudor still has the 6 volt system but very weak headlights. It's a driver so I want some way to see at night. No I don't want to convert to 12 volts. Anyone know a source for 6 volt halogens or any way to get these regular bulbs to burn brighter? I've check all connections. Most of the wiring is new and I have good grounds to the headlight sockets.

I have a 28 Model A Tudor that I am restoring. I'm starting to look for parts, but am not really certain what I should be paying for said parts. Maybe someone can suggest some ballpark figures?

I am looking for an original engine w/transmission. I will rebuild. It does not need to be running.

Also, a front axle and a rear drivetrain.

What should I be paying for half-decent shaped parts?

Thanks for any help.

I got this one a couple of months ago and it was sitting for 12 years, the previous owner passed away. When I got it the belts and pulleys were all taken off and there were 2 four bolt Harmonic Balancers on the floor and a three bolt one on the car. It has two dipsticks, one in front and one in back. The year of the car (1973) calls for Autolight 45 sparkplugs, this is a 13/16th plug with fat threads. The sparkplugs in the car use a 5/8ths wrench and have a skinny thread. Can anyone help me figure out what engine this is. I have looked for numbers on the side of the motor and the top of the intake. I don't know what the engine number is supppsed to look like, can you tell me how many numbers it should have, should there also be letters? Any information will be helpful and appreciated.
