Hello, after doing some searching, I could not find a forum for Panthers, but since it features the 2.3l carburetted ford motor (from the old Ford Ranger, AFAIK) I was hoping I could find some information on this site. What looks like could be an alternator pulley has fallen off of the motor and I was wondering if anyone knew of any places to source this part. This is my father's car and I really don't know anything about carburetter motors.

Also, the car only has under 100 hp, I know ford motors are fairly easy to interchange so long as the transmission bell housing matches up... what are my options here for a motor swap? I'm not sure what specific transmission it is, it's a 4mt that's compatible with the 2.3l. The engine bay leaves a good 6 inches on either side of the motor so there's plenty of room, I'm mainly concerned about finding a motor with compatible motor mounts, and of course matching up with the transmission.

I've been looking at this car and am going to look at it later today. It seems like a good deal, especially considering that people will usually settle for much less than their "buy it now" price. I am interested in buying this car expecting to fix the minor flaws (small rust spots on the fenders, what looks like minor wear on the leather and cracking on door handles, and a new a/c) and then resell it. My idea of the value of the car comes from here, which suggests that it might be possible to turn the vehicle around at a several thousand dollar profit. Is the NADA price reasonable? Is this a good idea? What should I look for when I go to see the car in a few hours?

Can anyone place that number? There were also numbers on the opposite side, but they were difficult to identify, it looked like a "CA...." something. It actually looked more like a lower case "e" and the Greek letter lambda.

Ok all you Ford guys, i need some help. I'm looking for a part, either new or used. I'm working on the brakes on a 1969 Ford Mustang with front disc brakes, every time that i step on the brakes the fronts grab HARD and the front end nose-dives into the dirt. It appears to be missing what Ford calls a brake pressure impulse valve. This is the little in-line valve that screws into the proportioning valve where the line from the master cylinder goes in to feed the front brakes, it works to "slow down" the fluid to the front brakes. It appears to fit 1969 full size fords, torino's/ fairlane's, mustangs, thunderbirds, and falcons with factory front disc brakes, i'm sure it would also fit the corresponding Mercury models. The Ford part number is C8AZ-2B363-A. Maybe someone out there has one kicking around in there tool box, or a parts car that they would sell one off from. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Phil.

Hello...

I purchased a project car (1952 Mercury Monterey) 2 door hard top this past summer. It is a basket case and was loaded with the neccessary parts to reassemble the car (and more parts from other Monterey's I will not use).

I have a set of interior door trim frames for a four (4) door model Monterey years 52 through 54. I will never use these as I have the needed ones for the two door and don't plan on ever restoring a 4 door model.

I thought someone here may be able to use them. I don't know what to ask for them or what they are worth....they are in good shape, but do need to be prepped and painted to your desired color. Metal is good, no dents or nonsense.
You can PM me or call me at 440-212-0909. My real name is Gino (The Butcher).

I am posting this truck for sale for a good friend of mine (call to discuss price):

FOR SALE

This 1931 Ford, Model A Double Door Delivery was purchased at the end of WWII, by Lee Korman. It was used, by Lee, as a service truck for his new business venture, Economy Plumbing, Ventura, CA. In the late 1950's, Lee's son, Hank, drove the truck to high school and used the "A" as his service truck after joining his dad's company. In the early '60's, Hank retired the truck to storage until 1978.

In 1978 a complete body-off restoration was started and completed, as you see it today, in 1980. The "Double Door" has been driven less than 500 miles in the past 25 years, as it was used as an advertising display for Economy Plumbing.

Believed to have been built at Ford's "Long Beach" facility, in early 1931, this "Double Door Delivery", is very rare. It still contains most of the original body parts, including the wood frame and thin metal skin, as well as running gear. This truck was owned by the same company for the past 60 years.

Purchased from Economy Plumbing in 2005, this fine example of Henry's "Working" Lady, is now owned by Jo and Bill Harris, Scottsdale, AZ.

Hello all. First post here. I am in the market for a 34 ford truck. I have found one that is an all steel body in good condition. There are 2 beds...one new and one old, complete cab with doors (missing regulators), all fenders in good condition, side boards, original lights and light bar, grill and side engine covers. No engine, but has trans. Everything except for the frame has been stored indoors. The frame has been outside for the last 5 years....no big deal...but it does have the rust where the crossmembers meet the frame rails in the back. Not a big deal, as I am told that most frames have this problem area, but are easily fixed. Asking price $4350. Keep in mind that there is not much more than surface rust on almost the whole body (the entire cab was beaded and primered already). Also, the guy stated that this was a rare 117" wheelbase. I don't know the difference between that and any other.

Sound decent?

Also, if anyone has and idea where I can fill my brain with all the info that I would need to educate myself about this vehicle (history and restoration), that would be great. Internet or book resource.

My Dad in Fort Worth, TX has a 1989 Lincoln Town car, dark grey with black fabric top in excellent condition with only 40,000 miles. My question is should he try to sell this to a collector, or a movie production company or just out and out sell it for blue book price of $2,000? And how do you find a collector or production company who might be interested?

I was wondering when Ford last used the oil plug in it's 9" 3rd member. I know they didn't have it in 63. I located a new set of gears but the pot does not have the side oil plug in it. I believe my housing is a 57 and it doesn't have a plug. I could drill the housing for a new plug but I'm a little leary of placing it to high or to low. Any help and information would be appreciated.

New at Decode This!

I've been quite busy over the past week adding features and services to Decode This! Universal Classic Car VIN Decoder http://www.decodethis.com. I'm striving to become a single source of information on decoding classic car VINs. I'm constantly adding new VIN patterns to our library, striving for the goal of being able to decode every VIN between 1950 and present!

Now Decoding 1960-1969 Fords

Last week I added to the library the ability to decode ALL Ford Passenger car VINs between 1960 and 1969. This includes everything from Falcons to Galaxies to of course Mustangs. This adds to the existing library of Chryslers and Chevy models we can decode. I'm striving to add 5 model years each week. Visit http://www.decodethis.com/patterns.aspx for a complete list of what can currently be decoded.

Decode This! on Google Toolbar

I've also added the ability to decode a VIN using your Internet Explorer Google Toolbar. With a simple download you can simply select a VIN on a web site, click the decode button, and have it decoded for you instantly! Download the Google Toolbar Decoder Button to add this feature.

Decode This! on Your Web Site

Webmasters, add a classic car VIN decoder to your website! I've put together a snippet of html code that you can paste into your site that will allow your visitors to use the Decode This! engine to decode VINs. It's a great feature to add unique services to enhance your vistor's experience. See the instructions at http://www.decodethis.com/Free_VIN_Decoder.aspx.

We have additional features, such as a WAP version of the decoder at http://wap.decodethis.com which allows you to use your mobile phone or PDA to decode VINs anywhere! And much more! Stop by and visit or read the blog (http://blog.decodethis.com) for a detailed look at what we're adding.

All the services are free; I just ask that if you like what you see, spread the word!
