Also, the interior fits not only a 65-67 Monterey or Montclair, but it also fits a 65-67 Ford Galaxy.

So i'm going to need all the help I can get.

There's one issue, i'm a musician, i'm far from a mechanic. The project (if I do everything myself) is going to be an estimated 6,000$.
The body is in perfect shape

the interior needs to be stripped and redone, but I have everything for that.

The engine has been rebuilt, but is still mounted and needs to be put back into the car.

All the electrical stuff with the engine has to be done, with which i haven't a clue.

The transmission needs to be rebuilt completely, which must be done before the engine can go in.

These are all the major things I guess, some other things here and there such as the bumper needs to be replaced, the doors need new side pannels, but other than that it's in great condition and i'll attach some photos of it to give you an idea.

Thanks in advance guys, I appriciate all the help you can give me, with any luck, i can successfuly get this thing done before i'm 18 in august and I can show it to my kids 40 years from now and say "look what your dad did".

Not to mention pick up a S**tload of chicks in the process

My question is how much would it cost me to maintain? Are repairs on a classic car much more expensive than a newer car? It would me nice to get a benchmark... fixing X on a 1968 mustang would cost Y... fixing it on a 2008 mustang would cost Z.

Is it hard to find a repair shop to work on a classic car?

Last summer I ran across a 1972 Gran Torino which has a 351 Windsor, for very, very cheap from a older gentlemen living in my area. Ive always idolized this model, its been a dream car of mine since I was a boy, which is why it makes me sad to do this, but financial issues have arose and Im possibly looking to sell it. Ive looked online extently and havnt been able to find another for sell, making pricing for me very difficult, because as I mentioned earlier, I am not a classic car "expert".

So my question is, would anyone of you possibly know the rarity of this car and a "guess-timation" of the price If I were to decide to part ways with it? It still runs, original tires, never been wrecked, good condition original interior, but needs a small amount of body patching, and a paint job pretty terribly as the gentlemen I bought it off of kept it outside uncovered since the 70s.

I want to buy a 1966 mustang convertible--have it all picked out--three areas of concern, of which I have already asked the dealer.

1. The clutch is very tight--he said it can be replaced with a FEATHERWEIGHT clutch kit and reduce 75% of the pressure--how effective is it?

2. I want to have a power steering kit installed--it is very difficult to steer--how effective is it?

3. I want to have power brakes installed--how effective are they?

The dealer will do all of the work for me--we will split the cost--he is not being unreasonable--I just want to know how effective and dependable these upgrades are--I really like the car--but I don't want to buy problems.

4. Also--to eliminate some of the fumes--he can run a vent tube from the motor--he also said there are additives for the gasoline--like the ones used in RV motorhomes--how effective are these?
