      <description><![CDATA[Hello all, <img src="/forum/plugins/NBBC/design/smileys/smile.gif" width="" height="" alt=":)" title=":)" class="bbcode_smiley" /><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Reading over the forum i felt you might be interested in the sort of thing we are organizing over on my club. its the 4th year we have done this event and if your interested please read on.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<i><a href="www.BH2NRetro.co.uk" class="bbcode_url">www.BH2NRetro.co.uk</a> View the video on the site for an idea of what to expect. <b>(Warning this is not a race of any sort, anyone treating this as a race will be removed from any further trips)<br />
<br />
</b></i><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
We are organizing a trip from Brands Hatch to the Nurburgring for all Classic and retro owners. We have great experience in organizing these types of events and have done this many times before, so feel in safe hands. we all meet up at brands hatch with a parade lap of the track before leaving to cross the ferry and over the beligum for our half way stop (about 250 miles) we stop off at one of the F1 hotels (inc in the cost) and then onto the Nurburgring in Germany where we stop over camping at the famous Nurburgring official campsite. later on in the week we will have a parade lap too of the 13 mile Nurburgring Track. very much worth waiting for. During our stay there are loads of things to do which we offer you ideas in your run packs once paid onto the run.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This years 2008 run dates have changed as we decided to accommodate the requests for it to be in the holidays. We have opened up the doors to all Classic and Retro Cars because its always nice to meet other types of classic car enthusiasts being racey or retro and it gives everyone a chance to do and see things which they would have never possibly seen before. We would love it if you guys could join us for our 4th year of this trip.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
So we will meet at Brands Hatch for distribution of "Goodie Bags" but this will be on the 13th August 2008 for the start of the week.<br />
<br />
We will be going for a week returning on the 20th August.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This year we would like everyone to stop over in Belgium as managing the convoys last year was difficult, especially the straight through group. With this in mind we have found a hotel with better rooms and facilities and one night on the way out <u>and</u> way back is included in the price.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Our stay in Germany will once again be hosted by the wonderful Herr Fischer at Camping Am Nurburgring. Again the cost of the camping is included in the price. Herr Fischer provides us with a lovely site with clean showers/toilets and there is a bar/restaurant on site that does a cracking breakfast (they will do veggie if you ask).[ url="<a href="http://www.camping-am-nuerburgring.de/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.camping-am-nuerburgring.de/</a>"]CLICK here to view the campsite[/url]<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Whilst at the 'Ring we will have some days out planned but these will be decided with the weather in mind at the time.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
There will also be a final night dinner but this will not be included in the cost and is optional.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
So down to the nitty gritty and the cost.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This year the cost will be GBP £200, for this you get Ferry crossings, 2 nights hotels in Belgium, 6 nights camping, and the ubiquitous good pack. Cost is for 1 person 1 car, for passengers add camping ONLY at Euros 12 per DAY (about £8.60)<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Application forms are on line and new for this year we have a deposit/instalments scheme this year in that you pay GBP £50 up front and the final GBP £150 is payable by May 31st 2008.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
If anyone has any questions feel free to post them up in here or into the run forum.<br />
<br />

      <description><![CDATA[Film Festival On Track to Be Bigger and Better in ‘08<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The Annual Southern Yosemite Automotive Film Festival is scheduled for March 28th through 30th, 2008 in Oakhurst, California, the southern gateway to Yosemite National Park.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Featuring car movies, racing documentaries and never before seen footage, as well as premieres of the latest car related films, the film festival offers something for everyone. A well know film and automotive celebrity (the name is a big secret) will be the recipient of the “Southern Yosemite Lifetime Achievement Award” for his or her work in automotive films. Last year’s recipient was James Garner, for both his films “Grand Prix” and documentary “The Racing Scene” and his involvement in professional racing.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Due to popular demand, “The Racing Scene” will be shown again this year, at a Saturday luncheon featuring drivers Scooter Patrick and Dave Jordan. Friday’s luncheon will feature a celebration of Riverside Raceway, with a film of the 1965 Times Grand Prix and commentary by those who raced there. And, now you can see hard to find films like “The Speed Merchants” as well as perennial favorites such as “LeMans” and “Days of Thunder” and some new, almost never before seen films such as John Schneider’s “Collier & Company – Hot Pursuit”. Two exceptional dinners are scheduled; one featuring the presentation of the “Lee Iacocca Award” and Oscar Kovaleski of Can Am fame showing his home movies of Can Am racing, the other featuring a special screening of “Sound of Speed” and a roast of Corvette racers Dick Guldstrand and Doug Hooper, Can Am Drivers Tony Adamowicz, Oscar Kovaleski, Scooter Patrick, Davey Jordan and Charlie Hayes.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The complete schedule of films can be seen at <a href="www.southernyosemite.com" class="bbcode_url">www.southernyosemite.com</a>. Most importantly, the proceeds all go to charities; Lee Iacocca’s Diabetes Foundation, the Children’s Hospital of Central California and the Harry Baker Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The film festival week also includes the “Spring In The Sierra” Car Show, this year featuring Sportscars and Racecars on the lawn at the community center plus automobilia, book and souvenir vendors and other auto racing related exhibitors from racetracks to go karts.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

      <description><![CDATA[Hi everyone! My name is Dustin Wilson and I work for Griots Garage. We're looking for a little bit of help when we come to Loveland, CO for the Good Guys show.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
We are a high end car care products company and need a hot rod, street rod or period race car of any type to display in our booth and use as a demo car. The up side to it is that we'll be working on your car the whole time, getting it looking great, you'll get to drive it in each morning and out each night if you would like and thousands of people will see your car in our booth! The slight downside is that we are pretty picky about the cars we need.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
We are looking for a street rod, muscle car, custom street car or a hot rod that needs a little help in the paint department. Single stage paint, oxidized paint, swirled and spider webbed paint is a plus, black, red, orange, dark blue, dark red, all work well too.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
We have no preference on make or model and the stranger, more unique, more rare, more oddball or more eye catching the better!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
If you are interested, you'll be taken care of with admission to the show, free detailing goodies and a detail on your car by one of the detailers who worked on this years Riddler winner, Ferrambo<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Please let me know if you are able to help! Thank you in advance.<br />
