I'm selling my dad's old '67 Satellite, and was wondering how much I should ask for it. It's not in very good condition... it's been parked for about 15 years. It has some rust damage and a big crack in the hood. The whole interior is shredded and rotten. It basically only has the engine block (though it is the original engine). So, how much do you guys think I could get for it in this condition?

Hi,

I'm a Hudson nut just passin' thru.

Over on our Hudson forum there is a discussion about changing a six volt starter to 12 volts. Since both Hudson and Mopar in the fifties used Auto-lite electric stuff . I wondered if any of you have converted a fifties starter to 12 volts? The field coils that have been used in the past by some of our Hudson guys was an Ace # ST-49. We haven't found a source for them either. Some guys said they thought Mopar used the same starter on the 6 cyl with different field coils when the factory went to 12 volts (1956?).

Google searches haven't turned anything up either. Any thoughts are welcome.

Someone with a Auto-lite parts interchange book would be very helpful

And... Yes we know the 6 volt starters work great on 12 volts, but eating up flywheel ring gears is guaranteed. if not now...later. Don't ask me how I know this...LOL..

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler sold more than 118,000 Sebring sedans in 2001. Eight years later, the automaker barely sold 27,000 as its bankruptcy filing sent customers fleeing to the car's newer, better competitors.

Chrysler now has a turnaround plan that promises improved quality and a stream of new models. But it won't work unless Chrysler can get cars like the Sebring back on people's shopping lists. To do that, Chrysler is going back to the basics: Reinventing its car brands - Chrysler as a luxury line, Dodge as a quirky value brand - and reintroducing them with head-turning ads.

It's a tall order, but Chrysler insists it can be done.

"We've had troubles. Yeah. We saw death. But the whole world needs to realize we're serious about this plan," Dodge brand chief Ralph Gilles told The Associated Press in a recent interview. "We're no dummies. We know what a good car is and what a good car isn't."

Chrysler's truck brands, Jeep and Ram, have strong identities in buyers' minds. But its car brands are mushy, said Allen Adamson of the San Francisco-based branding firm Landor Associates. One of Chrysler's first actions under Fiat SpA, which took control of the automaker last year, was to split Ram truck from Dodge so Dodge could stand alone.

"What they need to do is quickly define what they want to stand for and then build on it," Adamson said.

Dodge will try to make a big splash with an ad during the Super Bowl next month. Chrysler Group LLC, which has yet to pay back $15.5 billion it borrowed from the federal government, is taking some heat for paying an estimated $5 million to air the ad. But the company says it's the best forum to explain Dodge's transformation.

I'm looking for a Rightway sealed beam headlight conversion trim ring for a 1937 Dodge truck. I have a set of Rightway's that have the mount conversion for a sealed beam but only one trim ring. The trim ring holds the sealed headlight bulb in place. I believe these headlights were used on multiple years and models. I can post a picture if necessary.

Gears not shifting on 1965 Dodge Coronet

Hi All,

I have inherited a 1965 Dodge Coronet from a close friend which has not been driven for about 9 months.

It has been started every few weeks. The fluids are full.

The car does have a transmission fluid leak. (I tried to write some notes before my friend passed away).

Today, I pulled the car out to check the fluid levels and run the car around the neighborhood....it will be put on a transport to move cross country and I need to make sure it runs OK.

The car acts as if is not shifting into higher gears....the car will not go very fast. I hear the racing noise as if you were in neutral. There is a jerky movement....it seems the car wants to shift but something is slipping or keeping it from going to a higher gear.

A friend thinks the rubber in the transmission (seals?) have gotten hard and that I need to put in a can of something called Trans-X to help the gears shift.

I need to get this solved (hopefully) in the next 2-3 days as the transport company is coming early next week to pick the car up and it needs to be able to drive to get it on and off the transport.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
