Hi,

I'm replacing my stock fuel pump with an AMC Mechanical Fuel pump on my '51 Hudson Hornet and wanted to see if anyone could help me identify which port is the inlet from the tank and which it the outlet to the carb? I've attached a picture for reference. one port is threaded and the other accepts a rubber line, but no detail is included with this pump to identify which port is which and this pump is setup differently than the stock Hudson pump.
I have been trying to sell it for the past 6 months or so and am now wondering weather it would be better to wait to see what happens to GM before I go through with an offer. What do you think? Will there be a significant change after/if they go bankrupt? Would it be something worth waiting for? What do you expect the change to be? Sorry for all the question, I just need some help. The Nova is in great shape, no rust, all original parts, just needs some interior work really. I have it up now for $6,500.
He doesn't belive it has ever left Ada or Canyon counties. It has never been off road. The Command-trac works, although I have never used it myself, the A/C works, although weakly, and he says it has never been in an accident. It belonged to a family member. He believes everything wrong with it could be fixed for less than a $1000, most of which would be the new paint job. He would really like to see it get a good home. Thanks Steve

Greetings from a newbie here.

I have a 1967 Rambler American SW in which I have installed a 1970's 232 Six and matching Mopar based 904 AT.

Long story short: I am only getting about 15 MPG (city/freeway driving) and if I have to tolerate that

I may as well run a V8 and have much more power along with a more pleasant exhaust note

My 1990 Suburban has a 350 TBI/700R4 so I am quite favorably impressed with at least that variety of SBC.

I was thinking about switching to an AMC 360 but, after comparing parts cost/ availability, etc to Chevy; the latter won out

and, with the latter, I can use a 700R4 for its overdrive feature.

Any thoughts; good, bad or indifferent.

Hi all,

New guy here... I was wondering if anyone here had the scoop on installing a chev 350 in my small bodied AMC Hornet. The car is a 232 inline six, but the power department is very lacking. I'd considered the "stroker" 4.0 option, but the cost is going to be more than I have to spend. I have a good 350 chev and TH700R4 trans in my Caprice. I briefly considered an AMC V-8, but since Car Craft magazine has made a big thing out of late sixties Ramblers, the cost of the needed V-8 conversion parts.. like the V-8 specific front cross member and engine mounting plates... has gone thru the roof to buy.. I've seen the set go for 4 to 5 hundred bucks.... too much for me. The rear was already upgraded to the AMC 20 (12 bolt) from a 68 Javelin in the local junkyard. The front cross member from that car would not work, as it had the "trunnion" suspension. Any tips or pointers on how you may have done it would be great.. pictures would be even better! I was thinking of using 1/8" steel plate on the existing frame mounts, then adding either the "clamshell" mounts (rubber on frame, metal bracket on motor...) or the old style Nova mounts.. (rubber mount on engine, metal bracket on frame..) any ideas? Cheers! Mike

Here is my fathers 1970 Ambassador SST Hardtop towing an old Canteen Van. the vans hitch broke so we had to load it onto our car trailer to transport it 140km west of Sydney to our family property. It was a cheap buy. It was mostly srtipped out except for the deep fryer (radiator hoses are kept in here) and the shelves. It is full of AMC and Hudson parts. The Ambassador had no troubles pulling this load over the famous Blue Mountains west of Sydney to the other side. The Ambassador is equipped with the original 360V8 4bbl motor that is rated at 290hp when new.

Hello Everyone,

I was doing some digging the other day and stumbled across a chrome grill that appears to be quite old. I have asked numerous people and searched a boat load of websites, but I haven't been able to locate anyone that can tell me what this grill fits. I would greatly appreciate it if some of you classic car buffs could help me out.

Here is the mystery grill.

Hi, my father owns a 1963 AMC Ambassador (Rambler) 2-dr which according to the little research I've done is quite rare. It's in impeccable condition and we still have all the original parts, etc.; the only thing is that it could use a little work on the inside, but the paint is new and it really is just in great shape (runs great, etc.).

How do I go about finding info on how to price it, since we are looking to sell it due to some unfavorable circumstances?

Any tips are greatly appreciated.
