1948---Your father was a fighter pilot flying P-38’s over Europe during WWII. After the war he returned to the states and worked as a crop duster saving his money to buy a new vehicle. He finally decides on a Ford product as the Ford Motor Company had contributed to the war effort by supplying woodie wagons as ambulances. Your father lived in a small town and needed a large vehicle for his growing family. He ventured down to the local Ford Dealer, the only one in his small town. Upon arrival at the dealership there were so many models to choose from, but the wagon with the wood on it totally grabbed his attention! She was a shiny new tuxedo black 1948 Ford Super Deluxe Woodie Wagon. He leaned his head inside the window and the aroma of new raw hide, emitted from the saddle colored leather 3 seat interior, filled his senses!. The wagon’s options included an AM radio, heater and special front bumper ends completed its accessories.
