1973 Mustang Mach One Fastback, Blue, for sale in Alexander City, Alabama, for $7,500.
1973 Mustang Mach One Fastback. Last year of the big Mustangs. 68,000 actual miles. All original and matching numbers. 351 Cleveland with console automatic. Excellent Southern car--never seen road salt. My Dad bought this car from the original owner in 1975 when it had 15k miles on it. Dad drove it when he attended Auburn University and put it in storage in 1982. The tarp covering the car ruined the orlginal blue paint. Body is very straight except for a light parking lot dent on the driver's rear quarter panel that occurred at an AU football game in the fall of 1981.This is a rare variation of the Mach One that had a flat hood and no graphics, Less than 6000 "generic" Mach Ones built as opposed to 54000 "regular". Speculation that Ford intended to market to Law Enforcement as a pursuit vehicle--as AMC was doing with the Alabama Highway Patrol AMX/Javelin. Other speculation--Ford intended to field a NASCAR Mustang and wanted the flat hood for reduced wind resistance and no graphics allowed for sponsor logos. A rare Mach One functional cold air hood is included. The car has the rare optional inflatable space saver spare tire never inflated as well as the correct jack and handle/lug wrench. $7500
