Want to list your car on Classic Car? If you are a private seller, you first need to visit our Membership page, and register as a Private Seller. Once you have filled out the form, and registered, you're ready to list your car.

To do so, you need to sign into your account, and select Sell A Car on the left-hand side of the page. Fill in the form, filling in as much detail as you can. The more detail, the more catchy the title, and the better the images, the more likely it will be that your car catches the attention of a buyer. And with images, be sure to have them be at least 400 pixels wide.
Once you've put in all the details and description you can, press the Submit button. An email will be sent to you, showing you the listing as it will appear on the site, and, if all is as you like, then verify the listing and it will be placed into a queue for us to approve, and then the listing will be published on the Classic Car site.
If you are a car dealer, we can automate this process for you, and have all of your inventory appear on the Classic Car site. The first thing that you need to do is visit the Registration page, and register as a Car Dealer. Fill in and submit the form, and a staff member of ClassicCar.com site will be in touch with you to arrange listing your inventory.

Perhaps you're interested in a rare car, or a model in a specific color. Whether you're looking at a Make or a Model, look for the option to add an email alert to be notified as soon as a listing for the make or model that you are looking for is added.
There are a couple of ways to activate a car alert. If you're on a car make page, then if you click the Alert button on the grey bar near the top of the page, and you will receive alerts for all cars of that make that are listed. Likewise, if you have used the drop-down menu to look a particular model of a specific make, then you will receive alerts when listings of that model car have been added to the site.
If you've set the filter to search the car by color, the alert will be for the color you used to filter. So your alert can be for as broad as a type of car, or as specific as a particular color of a particular model.
The second way to add alerts is via the green Alerts button at the very bottom of each individual car listing. If for instance the car is a Ford Mustang, then you will receive an alert for each time a new Ford Mustang is listed for sale on Classic Car. You're able to have as many alerts as you wish, and they can be turned off at any time via a link in the alert email.
There may be times when you see a car listed that you like, but you're not right then able to contact the seller. Or you like to compile a "dream garage" for yourself. For reasons such as these, you're able to Shortlist a car, and have it pinned under the Your Shortlist section, located in the top right-hand corner of the site. Please note, that to have this feature work you will need to have logged on to the site.
There are two ways to add a car to your shortlist. The first, is the click the green Add To Shortlist bar at the top of each listed car. A second place to shortlist is the green Shortlist button, located at the bottom of each listing.

The default method of looking at the cars is via a list, with an image, title and short description of the car. You can also view the listed cars by images only. Do this by clicking on the word View, located on the grey box the atop the list of cars, and then selecting Images. Once you've selected the view by images option, you can also then filter the list of cars by model.
Once you are down to looking at individual cars, there are two ways to have a better look at the car. To change the main image, simply roll over the small images beneath the main image, and the image you mouseover will become the main image. For an even better look, click the word Gallery that appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the main image. This will bring up an overlay page, with larger images. To navigate, move your mouse to the left and right of the centre image, and left and right controls will appear. Or, you can simply click any of the thumbnail images below the large images, or use the green horizontal navigation bar at the very bottom of the page, and as you do so the centre image will change.
