Chevrolet Nomad, Blue, for sale in Charlotte, North Carolina, for $36,595.

What is it that draws classic Chevy fans to the Nomad two door station wagon? Is it because a station wagon is very practical or is it the sporty look of a two door wagon with slanted B pillars. The Nomad name has been around since 1954 but is best remembered for its two door 1955, 1956 and 1957 models and not the less sporty 1958 to 1961 4 door models. Chevrolet discontinued to use the Nomad name in 1962 and 1963. In 1964 and 1965, Chevrolet produced a two door mid sized Chevelle 300 station wagon that was a poor attempt to duplicate the Tri-Five Nomads. For 1956, the Nomad got a few small styling changes. The grill was bigger and wider and included a horizontal bar. The small tail lights on the 1955 Nomad gave way to larger tail light housings. Plus the fuel filler cap was hidden behind the driver side tail lamp. Only 8,000 Nomads were sold in the 1956 production year. Chevrolet had hoped for better Nomad sales. Regular Bel Air 4 door station wagons out sold the Nomad almost two to one. The 1955 and 1956 Nomads are more popular today than 50 years ago. Just like the name Bel Air, the Chevy Nomad is well known and highly sought after. This Regal Turquoise 2 door is no exception. With beautiful paint and laser perfect body this Nomad is a head turner. All the chrome is very nice as well as all the emblems. All the glass is in excellent condition. There is no visible rust anywhere and this car is definitely solid.

Look under the hood and you will find a very neat rebuilt 283. These small block Chevy's are strong pullers and won't empty your wallet at the pumps. A 3 speed OD Power glide provides a comforting shift that won't jerk you out of your seat. A stock rear end insures proper power to the roadway. The under carriage looks solid with no visible signs of deterioration. Sit inside and take a trip back in time when cars were meant for comfort. Even though this 2 door Nomad has that sporty look, it has that luxury feel. The seats, doors and head liner are in good condition. The dash and gauges look and work great. Overall this is one nice Nomad. If you're a first time collector or a veteran, this Nomad is a must have.
