Chevrolet Nomad Restomod, Silver, for sale in San Juan Capistrano, California, price on application.
Classic lines with iconic 1957 Bel Air style fins, this gorgeous Nomad wagon features stock exterior and interior colors, yet equipped with all the modern mechancal updates. and features.1957 Nomad
If you were choosing colors for your new 1957 Chevrolet model, General Motors executive Ed Cole wanted to make certain that a buyer had choices. There were 460 model color combinations, with 15 two-tone color combinations.
This beautiful 1957 Nomad is adorned in a very period-correct color scheme that provides the 50’s vibe, helps make the stock chrome and stainless steel trim embellishment stand out, yet still looks up-to-date and gorgeous with the modern Billet Specialties rims. And what is this beautiful two-tone combination called? Imperial Ivory over Dusk Pearl.
The interior continues the 1957 Chevrolet-correct theme with Silver vinyl with Black and Silver pattern cloth inserts. Peering inside through the “acres of glass” windows, many specific to the highly desirable Nomad wagon, one will see the chromed interior window frames and a black dashboard with a stainless steel insert. Sitting behind the large diameter black steering wheel, the driver would face stock appearing gauges, with the shift indicator now illustrating the Automatic Over-Drive (AOD) transmission. With the engine off, the passengers might hear the functioning dash clock ticking away, just to the right of the WonderBar radio.
The engine compartment gleams, and a larger-than-original Small Block provides more modern horsepower. The components gleam, with a polished intake manifold topped by a 4-barrel carburetor, and an aluminum pulley support for the A/C compressor and alternator. It is a modern mechanical machine, fitted for ease of cruisin’ or driving long distances, with power brakes, power steering, and even that AOD transmission. The big Wilwood brakes, with slotted and cross-drilled ventilated rotors at all corners, provide a high degree of stopping confidence to the modern 18 inch front and 20 inch rear modern tires.
The Nomad was introduced as the top-of-the line model, significant as the halo car for the entire Chevrolet Division. 1957 was the last year of the milestone vehicle with features inspired by the earlier General Motors Motorama Show Car. Combined with the now iconic 1957 fins with anodized aluminum trim, this highest level wagon was equipped with all of the best details and options of the Bel Air. This best and last Nomad of the Tri-Five ear was the lowest production model for Chevrolet in 1957, at only 6,103 units.
With few left, this prime example of a very rare and premium model would be a compliment to any collection.
