1957 Show Quality Nomad

Only 2126 miles since a full RestoMod on this impeccable iconic Nomad. When a vehicle is this good, where do we start?

All the original sheetmetal was arrow straight prior to being coated in the deep black exterior finish; flawless.

The bumpers (front with bumper guards) wear their chrome finishes perfectly, as does all the polished stainless throughout the exterior.

The frame and front tubular A-arm suspension is incredibly finished to the very last detail. The polished 5-spoke aluminum wheels, capped with three-bar knock-off spinners, reveal disc brakes with slotted and cross-drilled Wilwood rotors on all four corners. Tires were stagger-sized (front 245 55 ZR17 on 17 X 8 wheels, rear 255 50 ZR17 on 17 X 10 wheels) and with the 2 inch dropped front spindles with coil over shocks create just the right attitude. The rear axle is the bullet-proof 9-inch Ford; rear tires putting power to the ground are assisted by Traction Masters.

Opening the hood reveals a highly polished and detailed engine compartment. The custom-built 406 cubic inch small-block Chevy is topped with an impressive Hilborn fuel injection system that works as well as it looks. And it looks intimidating with the 8 individual injector stacks, plumbed with braided steel hose and red or blue AN fittings, rising into the air cleaners. The electric fan equipped polished aluminum radiator is fitted to a chromed support. A serpentine belt drive, along with a chromed brake booster and Wilwood dual master cylinder, and ceramic coated Doug Thorley headers continues the high-tech look underhood. The unseen high quality mechanicals include a new Art Carr 200R4 AOD transmission, and nearly everything is polished aluminum. Out back, a rebuilt 9-inch rear end houses 3.55 gears with positraction, positioned under a stainless steel fuel tank.

The theme of red and black in the interior is carried out well. The two-tone pattern in leather is highlighted with black suede accents. The door panels, fitted with custom aluminum door handles and power windows, carry on the red/black leather theme. Looking through the red/black leather wrapping on the billet steering wheel, one can monitor the black-faced Classic Instruments. The sun visors also match in red/black, and the black custom floor mats are trimmed in red. The front bench seat is adjusted via power assist.
