1992 Chevy 454 SS Custom Truck

Chevrolet produced a total of 16,953 of these high performance full size pickups between 1990 and 1993. The idea behind this truck was to combine the C1500 two wheel drive cab with an absolutely Killer Big Block 454 c. i. Chevy. The result was the 454SS . Beside the big motor, they were fitted with a 32mm front stabilizer bar and four wheel anti lock braking system, along with 12.7 to 1 fast ratio steering gears. Even though it was an Awesome ride straight from the factory, this Red Beast is anything but Stock!

The beautiful red exterior is the original Victory Red, with the stock black trim and the red emblems. It has an aluminum billet grill up front and the lower fog lights in the airdam. The bed is covered with a matching red fiberglass SnugTop locking top, and the entire bed is carpeted in nice gray carpet by BedRug. The suspension has been dropped with the help of a Bell-Tech lowering kit in front and back. The wheels are custom ordered 18” satin Centerline Autodrags made specifically for this truck. They are wrapped in BF Goodrich G-Force T/As. Inside is the original Garnet Red interior with the addition of a cool Grant GT steering wheel, Autometer ProComp gauges, and an Awesome sound system powered by an Alpine CD player, Alpine and JL Audio speakers, 2 Alpine amps and 1 Precision Power amp.

Under the hood is where things get Radical! The stock 454 was taken out and completely re modified top to bottom with high performance accessories. It was all professionally built and now cranks out over 600 horsepower! Features include a carbureted motor with aluminum intake, satin aluminum air cleaner, satin aluminum Chevrolet valve covers, aluminum coated headers and exhaust with dual Magnaflow mufflers and tips. The factory a/c still blows cold.
