Cadillac, for sale in Fort Smith, Arkansas, for $15,900.
This is a rare treat - - a low mile, all stock and mostly original (it has been re-painted) full-sized beauty. Cadillac had luxury figured out even as long ago as 1954. The car has gorgeous shape and colors, an incredibly comfortable interior and outstanding luxury car performance. And even better. . it has documents, documents, documents! From 1954 there is the informational sales brochure for the 1954 models, the cancelled check used to purchase the vehicle (check #251 in the amount of written May7, 1954 to Norton-Kitchen Motor Company in Lawton OK), a General Motors Shop Manual covering the Cadillac family of cars (original sale price .00), owner's manual and owner's service policy, a booklet entitled \"General Motors Builds Its First 50 Million Cars\"(a brief history of GM and its accomplishments up to that point), a user's manual for the autronic eye automatic headlight control system and vehicle registrations from the original owner from 1954 through 1978 in addition to registrations for subsequent owners (a total of 4 registered owners, all in Oklahoma). There are a few repair invoices dating all the way back to work done at the dealership for the original owner in 1954. It is a thick folder that adds depth and detail to what is already a stellar vehicle.
Engine: original 331 ci V8 with 4 bbl carburetor
Transmission: Hydramatic
Rear end/suspension:
Exhaust:
Body: one known repaint, all emblems and chrome present, the plating on the Cadillac \"V\"hood emblem is getting thin but the rest of the brightwork is in very nice shape. The rear bumper does exhibit typical rust/deterioration at the bottom of the bumper in the area of the exhaust pipe.
Interior: original two-tone green cloth seat covers with matching door panels, green padded vinyl dash and green carpet, all in excellent original condition. The rear seat has a fold-down center armrest. Front and rear ashtrays with a lighters. Of course the radio is AM only.
Options: power steering, power brakes, autronic eye automatic headlight control system and dual exhaust. It is also a factory air car; the components of the air conditioner behind the back seat in the forward area of the trunk. Fresh air is taken in via fender mounted vents behind the rear doors. The cold air is then blown through clear plastic tubes that come through the package tray on both sides of the car into the roof where roof-mounted vents disperse the conditioned air into the cabin of the car. A unique set-up and the amazing part is the condition of the clear plastic tubes mounted in the package tray--they are intact and clear not cloudy or cracked. This car has been pampered!
